This was what finally cracked King Gizzard open for me and gave me a way in. #icon www.youtube.com/watch?v=MkRx...

I loved this song last year, though it's on the more conventional side of Ashman's work (but less conventional than Madonna). #poptimism

My take on Madonna is that Maddie Ashman is really good. If you haven't heard her newest EP, I recommend it: maddieashman.bandcamp.com/album/her-si...

"Circus Envy" is possibly my favourite on Monster! I really like "West of the Fields" too, though I wouldn't have singled it out.
photo of the Travelling Wilburys with their ages in 1988: Bob Dylan (47), Jeff Lynne (41), Tom Petty (37), Roy Orbison (52), George Harrison (45)
Yeah, I do get "holy fuck, now _I'm_ 47" (46 in my case).
I don't get looking at the fit, not-even-balding guys in this photo and thinking they look a decade or two older.
I mean, clearly they were active enough to make a hit album.
Did people actually think the Travelling Wilburys were senior citizens in 1988 or is this some kind of bit? Why would Bob Dylan be my grandfather's age?
Ha, Beato's interview with Wakeman is pretty good btw!
Actually, looking more closely, it's a bit confusing. Howe could be taken from that era but that's at least a middle-aged Anderson.
Isn't that m/l just what they looked like in promo material ca. 71/72?
I was overlooking instrumental jazz interpretations of songs, possibly unfairly, since I don't really think of them as covers, even when they're not treatments of repertoire standards. Frisell's "Live to Tell" would deserve a nod.
Cover I prefer most strongly to the original: Frente!'s "Bizarre Love Triangle"
I like the original and appreciate the new angle: the obvious answer is Hendrix's "All Along the Watchtower"; shout-outs to Nazareth's "This Flight Tonight", Zep's "Dazed and Confused" (docked points for not crediting)
Old studio/guitar dude who's good at Youtube. Rochester accent a bit nostalgic. Good interviewer imo.
Why not? It's good. tl;dw he loves them, as one should
Out of curiosity, what is the source of the data? Is it based on a platform like Spotify or does it total data from all streaming services?
My 11yo nephew loves it. I taught it to him on guitar (at his request). Are you and OP located in the UK/Europe? "Iris" and "Your Love" are far from obscure in the US/Canada.
Demo EP, completed for the RPM Challenge. A teaser ahead of the full-length album Vignettes, to be released later this year.

That KEXP video from two weeks ago somehow went viral. I'm not sure they were well-known outside Canada prior to that.
Oh, I've been into this band since last year. The album is excellent.

And this track is good, thanks.
