Anecdotally, the ones primarily available here are the ones from Artron and they are straight ass. If you are not actively and obviously infected they will likely not pick up a positive result.

To answer your question, my wife and I bought a PCR machine so that my family can be sure when the issue of COVID pops up in our friend/family circle.
No one is getting sick because we take precautions. We all mask for the most part when out and about and didn't forget that COVID is still a thing.
