Black-headed Gull with a metal and colour-ring fitted ready to be released.

After 8 years & 400 Black-headed Gulls caught & ringed at Center Parcs Sherwood, on Saturday we had our first ever control. Not got the full details yet but we do know it was ringed in June 2003 making it 22 years old.

Ringed under BTO licence.

This the 300th Black-headed Gull to be colour-ringed at Center Parcs Sherwood since the project started in 2018. Also had the 50th bird of this season and what is probably a day record of 13 birds ringed. Not a bad day. #ornithology #birds #birdringing #colourringing #blackheadedgulls
