The voices are more varied, but the characters - for me - were less appealing. There was no character in the first book that I loved, and half of the ones we did have were dead by the end anyway. So what I was left with was bad things continuously happening to people that I didn't really care about.

Livesuit was ok, but I saw the surprise end coming a long way away. It did build on the universe and make things a bit more interesting.

Not after the first book of the series. While I loved all 10(?) books in The Expanse series, I did not enjoy that one.

I love ferries, regular or car ferries. There's something special about them... I miss taking the ferry into San Francisco from Marin county, which always felt a bit exciting like it was an adventure when I was young.

Yeah, and that's on top of the obvious burny hot metal and hammers things. :) But it's still good creative fun, you just have to be careful about it. Fell free to ping me any time if you have any questions, not that I'm an expert or anything. But I've spent many hours learning.

It did take me time, plus you have to learn how to hammer properly and use the right hammer (and weight) or you end up with 'tennis elbow' like I did which hurts like hell when you try to hammer more. 😅 But it can be learned with a little trial and error.

Congrats on the forging experience! Was it fun for you? I need to fire up my garage forge again before the summer weather arrives!
