Today, I realized that, no matter how long I’m in industry, I’ll never escape the pure math training because all of my questions about other reports are about baseline assumptions, definitions, and edge cases (aka “what happens with the null set “ but corporate) #MathSky

This is not only going to decimate young career researchers, but also cause a massive teaching/TA shortage. Folks have no idea how much of the higher ed system relies on grad students to support their lower level classes. They’ll find out the hard way.
