I haven’t posted in a while, but this weekend’s Soda City Poetry Festival in Columbia, SC, rejuvenated my tired soul. What a great poetry community we have in SC!

I’m excited to be a part of this beautiful issue of Little Free Lit Mag, edited by Sarah Ann Winn! littlefreelitmag.com/issue-3-spri...
Rothko room at the Tate modern, London. Several dark red / purple canvasses with a rectangle or two painted on them.
I went to the Tate Modern yesterday. In the Rothko room with all the Serious Art Connoisseurs there was a ~5 year old kid who walked up to each painting, pointed at it and shouted 'RECTANGLE' at each one in turn, then left the room.
Thanks to my Francis Marion colleagues for this wonderful honor.
Also yep.
Yep.

Clear winner.
Mom, leave me alone, please.
I’m thrilled to have three poems in this lovely anthology of SC poets and photos by SC biologist and photographer Phil Wilkinson. Available for purchase at www.danielcrossturner.com/all-titles/p...
Remember, this is a feature not a bug of bills like this. It's in the SAVE Act, and it's not an accident
This is all To pay for a tax cut for very wealthy people
Once again, no more grading for you, Mom.

Trying to Pray This time, I have left my body behind me, crying In its dark thorns. Still, There are good things in this world. It is dusk. It is the good darkness Of women's hands that touch loaves. The spirit of a tree begins to move. I touch leaves. I close my eyes, and think of water.
Still,
There are good things in this world.

Twitter post by the Volatile Mermaid about naming female body parts like guns.
Volatile Mermaid nails it again.
He unites other countries against him and divides ours. What a time to be American. 🙄
“Mom, forget grading. Just give them all a C—for catnip!”
I just taught part of Douglass’s Narrative on Tuesday. A true American hero.
Except those red states have often been so gerrymandered, and so many there are disenfranchised, that a lot of people who never wanted these bozos in charge will suffer. Don’t forget that the real enemy has money and power. And it’s never cool to hurt the innocent to needle the guilty.
The reason the name will never, really change:
When I get off of this mountain
You know where I wanna go?
Straight down the Mississippi River
To the Gulf of Mexico
Wait, have we even tried this yet? 😅🤣😂
