Plus, algos developed on basis of rewarding the part of the brain that stirs fight/flight so easy/ier to tend towards measurably worse as a snap/wrong judgement call?

great piece and makes you wonder what's the point of a lot of academic work, if it's designed to keep the walls high. Such a weird thing, when you consider the best academics at the top of their game distil their ideas very simply. Maybe because they're actually interested in a wider audience?
