Photographers, don’t sleep on going back through your archives to find forgotten gems. I took this last spring, got busy, and didn’t even finish culling from this day. Re-discovered it last week and I’m pretty stoked. Definitely the best bee photo I’ve ever taken.

She’s stunning 😍
Nothing’s equivalent to the black & white state of mind.
I want to plan a get-together for photographers/artists in the Bay Area. Who wants to come? Thinking late April or May. Would love ideas for where we meet as well.

At the Feathers and Fangs 2026 Photo Meet yesterday at GWP after we had hunted down things to photograph there were trophies for the best in categories; bugs (2 trophies), bees, flowers, small bird, large bird, predator, etc.
Honored to get best of in 2 categories!

And we’ll give photo assignments and trophies at the end for the best photos in each category. Hope to see you there!

I’m giving away 3 copies of my co-authored book “Arizona: A Photographic Journey” at the Fangs & Feathers Photomeet tomorrow morning at the Gilbert Riparian Preserve! Deets in the comments for how to attend…
An Egret I met on this morning’s walk around the Gilbert Riparian Preserve. I was scouting for a Photo Meet this Sunday at 6am for any and all nature enthusiasts in the Phoenix area (locals and visitors alike). Hit me up if you want to join!
That’d be cool if you could make it. I’d love to meet you

We’ll have 8 categories for photo assignments, and give away trophies to the photographers with the best captures of the morning. You can DM me for more info too!
We’re asking for a $5 donation, all of which will go to Cowtown’s Skateboard Angel Program. And you’ll get a raffle ticket, with a chance to win some products from Bushnell and nature art pieces from local artists.
Anybody in AZ next Sunday, consider coming out for an early morning photomeet at the Gilbert Riparian Preserve!

BTW, this is a two image composite to get something close to what my eyes actually saw. To expose the moon properly, everything else is black. To expose the saguaro silhouette properly, the moon gets completely blown out. Put the two together will some Photoshop magic to blend them seamlessly.
A little break from the atrocities of the world. The other night I went out to the desert on a whim to shoot the full moon rising by my favorite saguaro.
That’s it!!! 😮
I thought this branch of a Joshua Tree looked like a bird. Or maybe a giraffe. Or a creation from the mind of Dr. Suess. Open to other interpretations as well.
Risk?? Risk??? He achieved the Seat of Criminality level during his first term. Apparently Justice Jackson only defines criminality as tanking the economy.

Screenshot of an X.com post by The Associated Press (@AP) stating that dozens of immigrant families protested for better treatment behind fences at a Texas detention facility, where a 5-year-old Ecuadorian boy and his father were sent after being detained in Minnesota. Below is a video thumbnail showing a crowd gathered outdoors along a fenced walkway; many people wear bright blue or red outerwear, and some hold signs.
After being held in two of them as a boy, I fought for decades urging America to never again build concentration camps and put human beings in them. It breaks my heart to watch this happen twice now in my own lifetime.
Honestly, it's an acceleration for ICE, but the racial profiling, the weird treating people like meat, the checkpoints, all that is straight up normal day CBP in the SW border in my experience. Ramped up to sending death squads into cities instead of only at the border.
