I spent 10 glorious days in Kyiv in 2010 as a guest lecturer at their museum of modern art. I got to stay in the old part of the city.The people were wonderful. They hated the Russians as much then as now. I once got in a taxi where the driver said if I spoke Russian I couldn't get in the car.
