China is developing its military industrial manufacturing capabilities on the back of Russia's war on Ukraine. Very smart. Europe's increasing dependency on Chinese manufacturing isn't so much.

Putin is such a pathetic little man. He must think we're all so stupid not to notice the deals he's made with Iran and North Korea, not to mention China.
Keep up the good work, Japan.

In much the same way a dildo doesn't interfere with the vagina.

It may not have stopped Netanyahu committing war crimes, sure, but it will have stopped him visiting countries signed up to the ICC, or certainly have made it more difficult for him. That can only be a good thing.
Unless he steps foot on soil in a country where ICC does have jurisdiction?
Bibi and Donald climbing the Escherian Stairwell.
Thanks for the article. Interesting arguments made re Iran and how western sanctions on the regime benefit the Sino-Russian axis.

Russia is truly a terrorist state. Putin is a monster, a psychopath that knows no boundaries.
What bothers me most is China's support for the Russian leader, as without it, the war might not even have ever started. No-one should underestimate the role China plays here.

And likely these are all Chinese produced.

It's almost as if 'peace negotiations' involving the Americans and Russia is a cover for Trump and Putin to get together to work out ways to carve up their respective neighbouring coutries. Like, 'I scratch your back if you scratch mine'.
Meanwhile, China just sits back and makes hay either way.
I'll never understand why. Russia could say these tankers are in international waters, and I presume there's a narrow channel along this stretch that counts as international. Only, for as long as Putin continues to break international law/s, no government should be concerned about doing the same.
I was saying back in '22, repeatedly said it since, and say again now, Ukraine's allies, especially all those in Europe, should get planes in the air and boots on the ground.
Russia must fail in Ukraine. Spectacularly so.
And let's have NATO2, a reformed org for all free & democratic nations.
This is an amazing resource about community patrols that can be modified and replicated elsewhere.
...that they won't lose my data to some criminal gang in Nizhny Novgorod where it will be sold to the highest bidder in the underworld?
GDPR is a good thing, but clearly we've got a long way to go yet before personal data is safe and reassurances ate transparent.
Thanks for posting this discussion
..website, located in Europe at least, but where I am then asked to hand over very personal information. And that's where I get stuck. A private company in Spain will handle personal identifying info, and yes, sure they are genuine and wouldn't want to f*** up, but how can I be sure/...
..my sign in page. I'd registered as a user years ago, so I though OK let's log in. Having filled in my username and password, I thought that was sufficient. But no, I then get taken to a page which required me to verify my age. And to do that, I would be required to register with yet another /..
Ironic too, that as the vid on Vimeo wouldn't play when my VPN was set to Canada (less strict on online privacy), I had to set VPN to Europe. Then, after watching on Vimeo, at the end I clicked to 'like'. Only one can't 'like' a vid anonymously on Vimeo (like anywhere), so I was then taken to /..
Some interesting points made, but the elephant in the room, barely touched upon if at all, is the use of personal data by private companies advising political orgs & actors in democracies across the world. I suspect this is where the really big money is being made, by Meta, Alphabet and Twitter. /..

Risking a pile on, but personally I stay well clear of Zuckerberg products: FB Insta WhatsApp; I'm significantly reducing my reliance on Gates: Windows (I've moved to Linux Mint - superb) LinkedIn (rarely visit/post); & avoid Chinese tech altogether: TikTok big no no.
It's easier than you think.
I'm a consumer activist. We all should be.
So let's promote companies who are clearly anti-Russia, anti-Putin, anti-Trump, anti-MAGA.

Respect for the Heroes of Ukraine.
They are mot influencers, they are treacherous whores.
Should be pimped out to demine Ukraine.
The two most effective ways to help win the war against the double threats facing us in Europe: donate to Ukraine and boycott US products and services (even when they are slightly better, you don't win wars without sacrifice).
France is perhaps the one European country that has not relied on the Americans for defence, making most of its own weapons, including nukes & subs.
Successive British gvts have foolishly gone down the road of contracting out our defence industry to the Americans.
Now who's in the better position?
