Is bad enough that I'm back around for a day of Son tribute stuff then binning it again.

Well, if they like that sort of thing, they could get their own in eight or nine years.

They've had a chance to see what's needed.

When I was kid, I really disliked tartar sauce. But now I kind of like it. Just goes to show you that at some point they improved tartar sauce.

A photo taken through the window of a train. The name of the station "Newton for Hyde" can be seen on a sign. Inside the train a piece of paper is held up to the window with a sketch of a bewigged gentleman holding up a sign saying "Leibnitz for Jekyll"

Nerdy joke warning. 😁 I've been planning this since I first saw the Newton for Hyde sign.

[Scene is Women’s World Cup match showing on big screen in pub, lots of FANS in pub watching it cheerfully, apart from one guy at the back looking grumpy]

1
FANS [as goal goes in]:
YYEEEESSS!

2
COMMENTATOR 1 VOICEOVER ON THE TV:
Ooh and there's been a VAR check on that goal

3
COMMENTATOR 2:
Yeah Robyn it looks like there’s been a question about it...

4
[show a miserable gammony bloke watching the same from the back of the pub]

COMMENTATOR 2:
…from Brian at the back of the pub.

5
COMMENTATOR 1:
Looking at the replay we can see Brian using this rare moment of uncomplicated national joy

6
COMMENTATOR 1:
to talk about men.

BRIAN [holding his pint while he watches the screen, grumbling his own commentary]:
Grumble Grumble Grumble men’s game

7
COMMENTATOR 2:
Yeah you can see from his body position he’s making a dumb and sexist comparison there

8
COMMENTATOR 1:
The ref’s made her decision…
[Ref returns to the pitch, making one of the big VAR speeches they’ve started doing through her head-mic]

9
REF:
MY JUDGEMENT IS…

10
REF:
BRIAN IS TALKING BOLLOCKS.

11
PEOPLE IN PUB:
YEEEAAH

12
PEOPLE IN PUB [all pointing at Brian]:

My Obituary of Ken Don, inspirational Head Brewer at Young's, who helped save Maris Otter barley, @theguardian.com Also appeared online some time ago.

That's an extraordinary value pint if they are looking after it properly.

I get that. The worry for me with Frank is that he's just an organ of the Brentford body and that removing him kills them and just leaves us holding some raw offal. That analogy broke down quicker than I'd hoped tbh.

Who would you have preferred (assuming Ange was not an option)?

I think you're right. Can't be a sandwich if all the bread is on the inside.

Well I mean you might be right about their posts being terrible and they might be thankful for the insight, and keen to find out more.

Like if you tell someone they've got soup in their beard or whatever and they're grateful because everyone else just let them go round making bad soupy beard posts.

Yeah, fuck however many people it is that are in the ludicrous self-promotion setup that is "Lilywhite Rose" and associated NewsNow spamming offshoots.

(Apologies if you are here and read this, but also I meant it, so my apology is purely a matter of form and lacks any hint of sincerity)

A friend had it.

I think it would be as much fun now as it was then.

Which is to say not much in itself but loads if you're enjoying yourselves anyway.

I've never had a problem - not watching this one as I'm at real football (Berwick Rangers 1-0 Cowdenbeath at half time) but the earlier one was fine.

Watching this reminds of a question I've been meaning to ask for a while - does anyone know if Romero has played in midfield at any point, youth level or whatever?

You can only pick one.
Which one?

8 months ago 320 118 164 32

Maybe. Although Man U for example definitely wanted him and if any club overpays on wages it's them.

His release clause was so low that he was a minimal risk signing. Even if he only ever scores at 1 in 3 like he did for Ipswich Chelsea would make a profit on him.

8 months ago 1 0 0 0

Some of them definitely - but if you're Delap and your cheap release clause means you can basically pick and choose with good money whatever you go for - well, I'd think twice.

I don't really understand why a player would pick Chelsea at the moment - they are clearly stockpiling and selling, so there's no way you can trust them if they say you will play.

But they are having a bit of success with it, and obviously there's an attractiveness to London, so who knows?
