I haven't built a kit in over a year but I'm finally getting back to it. I'm still very new so it's not even panel lined or anything fancy, and I still need to built the Uranus Armor unit in the kit, but I am VERY proud of that perfect green sticker placement in the second picture :D

Rewatching Fist of the North Star 1984 for... reasons, and one stand-out thing about it to me is just how gorgeous all the backgrounds are. Surreal, almost impressionistic paintings of a post apocalyptic wasteland, that still manage to have a diverse color pallet that give them an ironic beauty.

It's fine if you like the repetitive, bland levels with endless long featureless corridors with the same enemy placements 20 times in a row that you will still run into constantly because a 5 year old designed all the hitboxes, then it still sucks because the controls are godawful and unresponsive.

For once in my life I apologize to Nintendo. I thought you didn't bring Kirby's Dreamland 3 overseas because you didn't want to follow up Super Star with a cutesy game that went against that image. I now understand you didn't bring Dreamland 3 over because it sucks mega ass.

I want to compare it to something, anything, but I can't find anything that deserves that kind of insult.

Please for the love of the universe leave HnK1 alone. The Manga and 1984 show are all we've ever needed.

(Also this somehow *looks* worse than the 1984 show too. Prime Video are war criminals)

There are MANY Japanese pronouns for "I/me", but we mostly just have "I/me", so a translation into English will naturally "flatten" everything down and lose all of the unique traits found in the original Japanese This is just how translation is, so it's sometimes helpful to "re-inflate" the translation with those lost traits in some other way, otherwise the translation will be a shadow of the original, and the author's intent might not shine through fully

Translating "I / me" from English INTO Japanese is another obstacle that translators have to deal with, and while using "watashi" is the safe default, it leaves everything feeling clinical and "translation-ese" feeling, this is why it's helpful to give translators lots of extra info about characters rather than just throw a ton of .doc files at someone and saying "here, translate."

Finished Shin Megami Tensei II on Super Famicom over the past 2 weeks. Hell of game. Unapologetically jank while still being easy to grasp. Plot is balls out crazy. Persona is watered down stolen valor. Yeah I'm one of *those* people now and it only took one game.
