A small translucent green frog with faint red spots sits on a green leaf. Its vocal sac is inflated, suggesting it is calling. The frog has a rounded body, visible internal organs through its semi-clear skin, and large copper-colored eyes with horizontal pupils.
A very special froggy, the Tlalocohyla celeste, or the Tapir Valley Tree Frog. This species was only just documented in 2021 and is one of the rarest frogs in the world. It's found only in a small area of the lagoon at @tapirvalley.bsky.social

Each stick has to be placed just right in the nest. There isn't much known about the breeding of the Agami Heron, but that's going to be much easier now with this amazing new rookery discovered in northern Costa Rica.
