I think a lot of solo operators, if they could see the math of the business we do on some of these platforms? They would seriously reconsider their business model. Because I think they imagine there was some great success available to them if only they grow enough. Nope! Really no.

But we have way happier customers! We know what our customers like we know what they're using and how they're using it.
A lot of these platforms, I don't see what you get for the cut they're charging, and based on our sales on these platforms, I don't see how they are a business.
Doing your own fulfillment in customer service is incredibly time-consuming and often tedious, but it also seems critical to what MCDM does. We know every vendor, we know every distributor and store that's interested, we deal with disgruntled customers personally and immediately. It's a ton of work.
Oh Austin Butler for Teagan! Ha, I just realized that. Seems obvious now. He's perfect
This only worked for groupon as long as the vendors didn't understand the business they'd entered into.
I think there are certain TTRPG spaces, platforms, that are basically groupon. You think being on there is good for you, but it's not. It's good for them. Your customers are actually their customers.

dhuartson: Don't let anyone talk you out of spending $15 on a new hobby. That $50 will be the best $400 you ever spent.
This is not wrong.
There's a great special from Rowan Atkinson where he talks about what makes comedy funny and why some things from the 1930s just don't work now, but some things still do, and Extreme, Over The Top, Unexpected Violence Out Of Nowhere is still hysterical.
...I think in this day and age if you want to make a Road Runner cartoon movie, people need to get fucked up in really alarming and hysterical ways. If you make a 1950s movie, you may have a smash hit, as long as you can find a 1950s audience.
The trailer makes it seem aggressively mid? It seems like something with teeth ("Warner Brothers, a wholly owned subsidiary of the ACME corporation" and "This movie was released for contractual obligations" all seems like stuff the marketing folks invented after the fact) but....
Oh damn, it is LITERALLY based on that article! Hah! Amazing.
I wonder if we'll get Rome Sweet Rome one of these days?
Hah, they made a movie out of that one New Yorker article. Neat!

"I think the damned old cuss of a preacher lied like Dixie. For he said God fought all our battles and won our victories. Now if he done all that, why is it not in the papers, and why has he not been promoted?" Sgt. Albinus Fell.
A screenshot of the chat window in the Draw Steel codex showing that you can select from a dropdown allowing you to send messages in chat using the languages on a monster's statblock.
Today I had a thought "@hellomcdm.bsky.social and @mattcolville.bsky.social like using language for drama in games, I wonder if the #drawsteel Codex allows me to type as a monster in a specific language that will only translate for players who took that language." Wouldn't you know it...
staying in a fancy hotel for a few days is nice but nothing hits like returning to your shitty little apartment where all your garbage ass crap is
Ratcatcher 02 for @hellomcdm.bsky.social's DRAW STEEL is now physically available in our store! We also have about 7 copies of the first print run of Issue 01 available still that you can grab RIGHT NOW, and they're ON SALE for only $10.

Pretty sure this is the first time I'd ever seen or heard anybody use the word "word" to mean "right." 1986, which seems late but I led a really sheltered life.
"I'm your worst nightmare. A literal cat with a literal gun!"
Bro! That's amazing!! Congrats!!
Hey this is a really good video!

Draw Steel Codex is getting a new ability editor this week!
In this video, we showcase how you can add homebrew content directly into your games using the same powerful tools our developers use to implement Draw Steel rules.

Jeremy Brett as Sherlock Holmes has to rank among the greatest casting coups in history.
He's so good I sometimes believe in time travel. That someone went back in time and got Arthur Conan Doyle to invent Sherlock Holmes just so Jeremy Brett could play him a hundred years later.
I guess my question, serious question is; and what did you think would happen after the president fired that person and promoted a sycophant into the role?

I like to imagine that Zohran Mamdani, Socialist African-born Muslim, was literally willed into existence by the collective psychosis of the Tea Party GOP over Obama, like the ectoplasm under NYC in Ghostbusters II
Just so you know, this kind of response is something I usually associate with someone being obtuse on purpose and I normally block such folks.
Obviously I'm talking about the power the internet unlocked to listen to audio whenever you want to. Dickering over terminology scores you no points here.
