Only the Liberal Democrats will stand up to Nigel Farage, Reform and their destructive brand of populism.
"Low-income households will get [free] plug-in solar panels to cut their energy bills, the Government has announced."
This is how you do a just transition.

Sorry are you certain this is real. I realise it may have been dleated.
A deeply touching moment in the House of Lords today.
Lib Dem peer @lynnefeatherstone.bsky.social spoke movingly today about her nephew, who died aged 35 from hepatitis C, and her sister, who campaigned for justice on the contaminated blood scandal for 40 years and passed away just weeks ago.
If senior officials were being lent on behind ministers’ backs, that is deeply concerning.
And if civil servants are then left to carry the can, that only risks further damaging trust.
Serious questions to answer here about process, accountability & culture in Government.
Lovely to see @libdempeers.bsky.social is active. Do give them a follow to keep up to date on the work we are doing in the Lords.
It gets worse: No 10 also tried to get Matthew Doyle - a close friend of Mandelson - a job working for him in DC.
Remember - Doyle was asked by PM to investigate Mandelson's responses about links to Jeffrey Epstein & concluded he was "satisfied".
A *clear* conflict of interests.
How on earth are we going to hit our 30 by 30 biodiversity net gain targets if government policy is to do absolutely nothing to help make it happen. Climate and nature they are interlinked and co-dependent yet treated as separate by this government.

“If you break the link between gas and electricity, you’ll probably save consumers a lot of money.”
Gas sets the electricity price, so wind and nuclear are sold at higher gas-driven rates, cutting that link could lower bills.
@adambell.bsky.social Partner at Stonehaven, on the Today programme.
We welcome the governments plan to move older renewables contracts, which make up a third of onto fixed price contracts, indeed the Liberal Democrats called for this to be done over a year ago now. I await further details of the rest of the plans.

Palantir’s deranged manifesto shows why it should be nowhere near our public services.
This is not a normal company, it's Trump's favourite tech firm and a danger to our NHS.
Never mind the rest of the world, America first.
NEW: Simon Case, the former cabinet secretary, advised Keir Starmer to do Mandelson’s security vetting *before*
his appointment as UK ambo to US.
Docs were buried in those released for humble address - but there doesn’t appear to have been a response.
How wonderful to welcome Sir Ed Davey to Upton Heath yesterday to celebrate the power of community.
Alongside Dorset Wildlife Trust, it was the community that came together to secure the section of Upton Heath that was up for sale and ensure that it is protected for future generations.

Globe showing the Atlantic Ocean with arrows depicting the AMOC circulation: warm surface currents (pink/red) flowing northward from the tropics toward the Arctic, and cold deep return currents (blue/purple) flowing southward. The background shows sea surface temperature trends, with a prominent blue cold patch, the "cold blob", south of Greenland, contrasting with warming (orange/red) across the rest of the ocean.
1/ There's a system of ocean currents in the Atlantic that shapes Europe's #climate, drives monsoons, and keeps sea levels stable along the US coast.
In the last 5 years, the scientific evidence that it could collapse has shifted dramatically.
Most people have no idea. 🧵
Policies will include 'speeding up the warm homes plan to encourage the rapid take-up of solar panels and electric vehicles; expanding the use of solar on public land; and delinking gas and electricity prices, to cut consumers’ bills.'

We are at our best, as Liberal Democrats, when we have radical vision, challenge the status quo, AND have the plan to match.
I've written here for @libdemvoice.org on how we could construct and communicate a plan for a Wellbeing Economy in the UK: www.libdemvoice.org/a-uk-wellbei...
UK military escalates threat assessment for #StraitOfHormuz and Persian Gulf to Critical
UK Maritime Trade Operations center, citing “high level of activity by naval forces in the region", says current environment creates severe “risk of attack or miscalculation” for all commercial shipping

Update:
The U.S. has taken custody of an Iranian-flagged cargo ship in the Strait of Hormuz after firing on its engine room, President Trump said in a post on social media.
BREAKING: New data shows ZERO oil tankers passed through the Strait of Hormuz today, signaling what appears to be a complete shutdown of the Strait for the first time in history.
The Strait normally carries about 20% of the world’s oil supply.
Someone knew.
$760 million bet that oil would crash placed 20 minutes before it did. This wasn’t a fluke. It happened three times in six weeks.
The feds are investigating. The question isn’t whether someone had inside knowledge of U.S. war decisions. It’s who.
Amidst everything else, the Trump regime has quietly killed off the U.S. Forest Service 🌲
“One hundred and ninety-three million acres of your national forests… just handed, on a silver platter, to the people who’ve spent their entire careers trying to destroy it.”

Today’s The Times Scotland front page with the top story “Cherry: SNP made me ashamed so I quit party”
Hey the Times, I quit a political party over trans issues and have a book to promote, can I have a front page spread?
Oh, that’s only reserved for transphobes and not trans people? Never mind.
