I live in Memphis. I saw a “Bygone Days” photo in the Commercial Appeal of teenagers who all owned ice skates and skated on the lake in Overton Park all winter. I think it was from the 1940s. I don’t know anyone in Memphis with ice skates. The lake in Overton Park never freezes anymore.

Same here. When I moved to Memphis in 1984 it was too cold for armadillos and fire ants. Now they are everywhere.

I stumbled on a thread on Twitter where people who had lived abroad for a few years and returned said they were shocked by how much higher prices were in the US.
