The only thing between me and a full breakdown about this is the fact that I started watching Taskmaster two days ago and have delayed the breakdown until I run out of episodes.
This gives quite a context to the question, “How many sugars do you take?”
Sarah McBride rarely centers her identity as a trans woman. Republicans do that for her. So when she steps to the microphone and talks about "21 years of unwavering homesickness," it means something. @mcbride.house.gov www.readtpa.com/p/watch-rep-...
Gender affirming care for trans people is safe, effective, and has a lower regret rate (4%) than almost any major medical procedure. It saves lives. These are facts. The right's talking-points are recycled "they are coming for your children!" scare tactics well over fifty years old at this point.
Congresswoman McBride articulates it so well - a life of purpose, happiness, and wholeness is all I have ever sought, and it did not seem possible until I transitioned. To deny that to children is evil.
It was an open secret amongst costume folks on Broadway that you did not leave an assistant alone with Spacey.
Ever wonder why the New York Times abandoned balance and impartiality to lead an old-fashioned newspaper crusade against trans equal rights?
In one of our most read stories for the year, @evanurquhart.bsky.social took readers behind the scenes at NYT.

"the USPS is a miracle. it's in the constitution. for the price of a single stamp you can send a letter across the country, from Hawaii to Maine. Trump is trying to take that away from you. He's attacking Christmas cards and wedding invitations. It's un-American and it has to stop."
I’m floored people would ask that of a pediatric nurse, that is ghastly! My first impulse would be to ask if you’d ever run into any of the babies you’d nursed as older kids or adults.
Craft artist (stained glass for me, but applies to any craft): “Can you make me this?” while showing another artist’s completed work
A line of Ramona Quimby, a young girl with a choppy bob cut. She has a furious frown. The text, by Beverly Cleary, reads: "I am too a Merry Sunshine," insisted Ramona, but she got down from the table and ran out of the room.
finding joy despite the world in 2025 is like this lol
The Mayor is here at hand.
I think the deep earnestness of LotR is its great success - the Hobbit trilogy really lacks it (except at the very beginning), which is why it doesn’t work as well as the LotR trilogy.
Others have already answered your question, but I have a genuine one for you - if there was a database of art that worked with a search function similar to AI prompts but showed you already-made artworks that matched your prompt, would you use it instead of AI? Your feed seems like you love imagery
This list and the prospect of a book club with other people also excited by said list got me to subscribe! I look forward to the polar collective
leftists: that thing you teach us in school to be terrified of is happening
historians: that thing is definitely happening
star wars: here is a beat-for-beat breakdown of how the thing happens, but with pew pew lasers. we know you watched it
news outlets: these protesters are out of control
I really wish more people were dedicated to be kind, regardless of being nice, rather then trying to be nice but skipping being kind entirely. Nice is a cool bit of flavor text. Kind is fucking essential.
the first sentence of Elon's obituary should be that he was one of the greatest mass murderers in the history of humanity
this is his legacy
I (naively) thought I would be safe as a trans person in California and it is becoming very clear that is not going to be the case.
Worth noting that this is also what the UK government review found, it just ignored all the evidence in its conclusions.
I will second this recommendation! It’s my favorite fantasy story and a big comfort listen - they’re about six episodes from the end of the first book (i.e. a completed story) and it is just phenomenal storytelling.
Woaaah I love these as mini displays!
Uh half of those examples seem like things that are not opinion-based and should very much be talked about?
A screenshot of a New York Times skeet summarizing the emir of Qatar’s successful bribery of Trump as a “charm offensive” “with no strings attached.”
This is an unbelievable take by the NYT, when this should clearly read, “Bribery attempts by Saudi Arabia on President Trump appear to be successful.”
What an excellent combo of fabrics! I love that little floral accent in the blue. And my additional compliments to whomever organized the books by color.
A red book with gold accents sits in front of a dark background. The center of the book’s cover has been removed and replaced with a miniature stained glass window, which is lit from within. The window is a red and gold Victorian style of stained glass.
This is ‘Armchair Detective’, an ode to my lifelong love of mysteries.

I have felt like I’m going mad while everyone points gleefully to their dumb action figure selves and crows about gen AI - thank you for writing out what seems so obvious but apparently is not
