If RUMC can pay its CEO over $4 million a year, it can afford to provide better working conditions for nurses & staffing levels that are safe for their patients.

I think a big part of the problem is the medium the debate mostly takes place on.

It’s easy to thought terminate someone as a liar or acting in bad faith on the internet.

I’ve found that parents see enough folk in the support field successfully avoid helping to need to see skin in the game.

In 2 minds about this.

No doubt moneyed interests want to be able to refuse help to *everyone*, but the rhetoric about “they all just want to negate us” bothers me.

Families I’ve worked with, for whom state services failed, acknowledge the nuance of this debate.

It’s infuriating when a woman comes forward about a man raping her in his hotel room after drinking and the response is “Why would she go to his room?” “Why would she drink with him?” This is Mike Pence logic. Women should be allowed to hang out with men without expecting they will be raped.

Raising children with unique needs is stressful, especially when dealing with inadequate support systems.

NASA isn't why the US doesn't have universal healthcare, or a social safety net. The US doesn't have those things because politicians with the power to provide them choose specifically not to (with varying levels of support from voters). Enthusiasm for human spaceflight doesn't drive that choice.
