it was pointed out to me that Speed Racer predates Gundam by a decade so actually............ Char is a Racer X
this is in fact entirely correct
The Wachowskis set out to see if it was possible to make a cubist film and the answer is yes but only for them
Very briefly! Alas today is the last day of it!
Hello! I still badly need work in narrative design or game writing etc. Iβve been in games for 20 years and Iβm responsible for the mobile smash hit Lilyβs Garden. I will take on full-time or contract work but I really need to pick something up soon. Please get in touch if you have/know of something
Racer X is a Char
also why is Netflix trying to make a live action Gundam movie when the perfect one already exists
Speed Racer (2008) remains a perfect movie and seeing it even bigger and brighter than ever (in IMAX) was glorious
my MFA thesis was on what to do when you realize you're writing a bad book. (it was supposed to be a draft of a novel. unfortunately the novel was unsalvageably bad and I didn't figure that out until too late.)
my two undergrad theses were a case study of a form of synesthesia (Ordinal Linguistic Personification) in a trilingual speaker and an analysis of editorial curation as an emerging form of network-mediated authorship (particularly looking at Homestuck, lmao).
good glasses (good face)
I'm seeing it tomorrow and truly cannot wait
I've been VORACIOUSLY playing and cannot recommend enough @iridiumstudios.bsky.social 's People of Note and @outerloopgames.bsky.social 's Dosa Divas -- you turn-based RPG sickos need to get in on this, you can even get them in a bundle on Steam! store.steampowered.com/bundle/72037...
Ooh, this looks like my jam! (And hey, it's a Celia game! We went to college together!)
laughing extremely hard at the phrase "this is Gundam like it's been seen before," choosing to believe that's somehow not a typo
I mean it is Very Space Opera and that part does not change, but like... space opera is my genre so that was a selling point for me. if space opera is not your thing then large parts of it probably will not land for you!
so many cool ideas! every character is incredibly compelling in a different way! I feel like my mind has been genuinely expanded into new possibilities of reality and society and cognition than I had previously been able to imagine! extremely highly recommended, obviously!
continuing my journey through Famous Sci-Fi That I Never Got Around To... finished Vernor Vinge's A Fire Upon the Deep on the plane and... goddamn. now that's how you do some fuckin good ass space opera sci-fi. turns out there is a reason it won every award back in 1992!
HEY THIS RULES!!!

Yeah, The Sparrow is one of the best books I've ever read but I wouldn't say it's a FUN read so much as it's emotionally devastating and hauntingly beautiful

Linguistically speaking you are correct! They are both variations on a tap!
also my roomies and I were very cute at the party
my friends @iridiumstudios.bsky.social finally finished their amazing musical RPG (go play People of Note!!) so obviously for the launch party I had to make custom DDR charts for some of the songs from the game
(honored to have DDR legend DukAmok play my charts at the party!!)
this is the funniest thing I've ever seen
here's to twenty years of Neil banging out the tunes... and the original website is still live, may it live for another twenty
