And just as they started to give guidance, the little guy flapped his wings a couple times and then sped off. I cheered and then almost started crying while still on the phone.

Put that and an old towel in the box, and then gently picked up the little guy and put him on top. He sat there for a good 20 minutes and watched me (I'd closed the door and sat several feet away). Finally called a local wildlife org to see if I should take him in for care... 🌱
Some scary moments yesterday. A hummingbird flew, HARD, into my glass door between my office and deck yesterday. I found it laying on the doormat barely breathing. Did some quick searching online, cut apart a contact lens solution box, nuked some bulgar in an old sock... 🌱

A serene woodland Spring scene with the floor carpeted in the green and purple tones of wild English Bluebells, growing between tall and thin trees that are just beginning to leaf. As the woodland trees become more densely covered in leaves, blocking out the light, the Bluebells will wither and retreat, ready for next year. The presence of so many Bluebells in an area like this indicates that it is an ancient woodland, where Wood Anemones also grow plentifully. Camera: iPhone 15 Pro.

I used to attend hearings frequently when I worked for the union in DC. I never remember the witnesses being as disrespectful as they are now. Testifying was a serious activity and one never wanted to be flippant or disrespectful lest you say something that could be misconstrued.
