Idk being an artist is not Being Successful or making art that looks a particular way or caliber, it is the act of making things that makes artist. By cutting that part out we destroy the fabric of what makes art *art*

This aversion to difficult things, trying, failing, practicing, is ruining so many of us.

Hate that I can’t trust any form of media anymore bc ppl want to be artists and creators without any of the effort that makes them such.

I am an avid supporter of DNF-ing don’t waste your time and energy and brain space on a book that will just make you less willing to read and/or less discerning about books you choose to finish.

Just so devastating bc I’ve already had some contention with published books bc I think the writing is outright bad but now even worse than outright bad is not only getting through gates holding other people out but being praised in the process.

An AI book getting big five publishing and rave reviews on goodreads by booktok people has broken my trust in so many different ways it’s really really hard to process. Not only is capitalism so hungry that this made its way through due to editors not having time to edit, but people eat it up.

Similar to what happened when I first got my dog, my family who expressed distrust/mild disappointment at me adopting an animal have started complimenting my cat and talking him up to our relatives which I find so deeply sweet.
