I served on a couple of Juries several years back. I found it fascinating (and was able to use the experience when we covered the criminal justice system in our Civics class when I was still working). However, both cases only lasted a day.

I think a shift is coming, which is impressive considering how red this community is.

Well, I did not win, nor did my fellow "liberal" candidates. (in parentheses, as this is a supposedly non-partisan position) However, we did get the referendum passed, so that was a win for us. The School Board votes were all pretty close - less than a thousand votes separated all the candidates.

This tracks pretty well, considering Mr. Art of the Deal bankrupted the casinos and an entire football league.

They also are fairly absent when it comes to public forums, so they don't have to explain why they are running on issues that aren't really relevant to our community.

What they are good at is creating false narratives. Very political, considering this is a non-partisan position.

The incumbents are running as a block, and their signs all say things like "Education - Not Indoctrination", "End Radical Curriculum", and "Keep Boys Out Of Girls Locker Rooms". Basically the same scare tactics from last year, and issues that don't really exist in our district.

I feel pretty good about my chances. There are three incumbents (who weren't voted in, but appointed by the board to replace people who resigned for one reason or another) and seat being vacated by a member who opted out of running, and four people running for the first time.
