The splash page for "An Eye for an Eye," his first solo story for EC Comics. The Comics Code Authority spiked it so it didn't actually get published until 1971. It shows a primitive looking man in a loincloth holding a beautiful blonde. He is running through a jungle from an angry mob that is chasing them. The crowd is shouting "Kill them! Kill the freaks!"

Today is the 94th birthday of Angelo Torres, born April 14, 1932. The last surviving artist to do work for EC Comics, he is probably best known for his several decades with Mad magazine.

I went into this book not having a clue what it was about (I’m fairly good at avoiding pop culture stuff). It seems rather standard for psychological horror. #booksky💙📚

The Stranger - Spectrum Culture An alluring adaptation and deeply engaging character study that recreates Algiers in the late ‘30s in exquisite detail.

You are seen. You are loved. You belong.

Revisit: Rumble Fish - Spectrum Culture When Francis Ford Coppola is boxed in, he can make some of the best movies of all time. When he is left to fly free, his films can be aggressively artsy and even bewildering.

I revisited Coppola's Rumble Fish - a film he described as an "art film for young people" - for @spectrumculture.bsky.social.
