There does seem to be one vegetable on the plate on the right. Naturally it’s an orange carrot. In Trump world, orange is good while green is bad!
@andrewrawnsley.bsky.social writes re EU membership, ‘some mistakes you get to correct. Others persist in being damaging for years’. With his clear and logical account of why this is likely to be the case, I fear he is right.
If a civilisation is wiped out tonight, we know that it will not be American civilisation because there is no such thing.
That does sound just a little hyperbolic as in the last NASA trips to the moon people actually landed on the moon and that was 54 years ago.
It must be a sign of my aging that I just can’t get excited by NASA astronauts stopping short of what NASA astronauts did several times around 56 to 54 years ago when they actually walked on the moon.
I suppose given that he is dropping bombs on them, swearing and being abusive to them is relatively minor , but he certainly is sounding demented, and the violence loving Americans see this as reasonable?
Thank you for the sentiment, but I wish everyone, Christian or not, a peaceful and blessed Good Friday. Sadly for many around the world including Christians, especially our Christian brothers and sisters in the Middle East and Ukraine, it will be far from peaceful and blessed.
David Dimbleby speaking on @bbcnewsnight.bsky.social making so much sense! Fully agree
No, at least one of them had stayed in a hotel in London and been served by a ‘Muslim’. Not quite sure how they got to talk about his religion but it must be right.
I tried to listen to this all through but I couldn’t make it. The mix of lies, stupidity, ignorance and bigotry was just too depressing and as for the treachery of Liz Truss stoking it …
Too good for the likes of us!
I’ve been waiting all day for coverage of Robert Jenerick celebrating Lady Day.
FYI Americans- what three letters are missing for this sentence to be correct? DIS to precede the word ‘respect’.
Very clear explanation of the economic theory @martinlewis.moneysavingexpert.com but sometimes economics is just ludicrous and mortgage payers pay the price for an inability to distinguish between cost push and demand pull.
Phew! Slovenia is a beautiful little country- its capital is a gem while Lake Bled and the alps is gorgeous.
As a British Salvationist I would not normally be promoting the words of an American Roman Cardinal but this take down of the heresy that is so called Christian Nationalism (an oxymoron) is excellent theology and should be heard by anyone who identifies as a Christian youtu.be/408wLQVioAk?...
Positive stuff but should have been in the 2024 manifesto. Sadly, likely to be too little, too late.
As a British Salvationist I would not normally publicise the words of an American Roman Catholic cardinal, but this is so spot it needs to be listened to by anyone claiming to be a Christian youtu.be/408wLQVioAk?...
Politics isn't working. It's time to call time on the broken culture in Westminster and have a fresh start with a fair voting system. Add your name to @electoralreform.bsky.social's call to #MakeSeatsMatchVotes

of Economics having the capacity to be err … silly.
increases, the Bank of England decides that maintaining interest rates at a higher rate than they may have done will stop prices rising. I know the theory, but it does seem to be an example of mortgage payers not only having to pay the price of Trumpflation on the things they buy but also the cost
I’ve got to be honest. I have a Masters degree in Economics and taught it for
many years. I’ve even authored a book and trained people to teach economics, but I have never really understood why when demand in the economy has been too low and prices are being pushed up by purely external cost
In the UK when it comes to EU referendums there are many Conservatives (and Reform, but same thing) who claim 52% as an overwhelming majority and 52/48 not close at all.
"We know that within that first hour of war, between 140 and 160 Iranian school girls were killed by an American Tomahawk missile," says Emily Maitlis.
"Now, if that's what Trump thinks of a success, I am speechless, frankly"

While this is clearly appalling, surely by far the worst aspect is that the cars are Teslas!!! More Teslas = more profit for Musk.
Yep, that and mispronunciation of the letter’h’. It’s spelt and therefore pronounced ‘aitch’ !
Yes, fair point re the dates, although the essential point was that the USA only joined world war 2 after it was attacked by Japan and Germany declared war on it, so when Trump invokes Churchill he doesn’t know what he is talking about.
He’s (Trump) obviously thinking about Winston Churchill and how he finally got the USA to join in World War 2 after the UK had been standing alone for over 3 years until Germany forced the hand of the US by declaring war on the USA. History can be so inconvenient
