I have locked down my credit and shuffled my 401(k) investments to more conservative positions since I am approaching retirement. /4

I have stopped shopping at Amazon, Walmart, Target and Sam’s Club and am trying to instead support local businesses. I started regular monthly donations to ACLU, Pro Publica, and the Texas Civil Rights Project. /3

I’m not sure about the New York Times, I have not canceled my subscription as of now. I have continued subscribing to my local newspapers to support local media. I am considering subscribing or providing regular donations to alternate news sources such as the Guardian and the Associated Press. /2
