What are the current and emerging topics in Cancer Neuroscience, and what comes next for the field?
In our new review, now online @cp-cell.bsky.social, we discuss previous and ongoing research from leading laboratories and propose future directions for research. 🧠🔬

i firmly believe that kennedy wants preventable diseases to rip through american communities since, in his warped mind, those who survive without vaccines will have proven themselves “healthy.”
This isn’t a “could face” situation.
It’s a “are facing” situation. And brain drain will continue to happen as long as we undermine science in the US.

Cover of The Lancet's April 4, 2026 issue. Quote on cover reads: "The tools to cure most childhood cancers are already available. Achieving equitable outcomes now depends on delivering effective treatments to all children, not just to those in the wealthiest countries."
On the cover, our latest Editorial—'Childhood cancer: progress, but not enough'

A 20% budget cut atop multiyear funding-induced cuts to research and direct terminations of projects underway will further degrade American leadership in science.
This is early news & not even a proposal or appropriations - precisely the reason to speak out now.

So sorry to have missed this amazing event! I am in the middle of teaching a course so was unable to make it :(
Leaders in academic circles seem to want to downplay just how bad things are at NIH and for science in the US.
Not sure if this is naivety... Bhattacharya is quite a good propagandist and sounds reassuring. But certainly folks in academia are paying close enough attention to see through his lies?
Thanks to Francesco De Virgilis & Christoph Scheiermann for writing a great Preview on our recent paper www.cell.com/neuron/fullt... 😀
Federal funding for US biomedical research is moribund.
Since October 1 2025, NIH is -80% in new grants and -70% in values (total dollars).
Labs are closing down and researchers are leaving science.
To what end?
Awesome! Congrats!!
Thanks!! 🙏
The findings of a study in Nature Immunology shed vital insight into the role of CD8+ T cells in multiple sclerosis and support an important role of Epstein–Barr virus in MS immunopathology. #Immunosky #medsky 🧪

@dianabuttu.bsky.social on how Israel continues to kill, starve, and imprison Palestinians as the world remains distracted by the words ‘peace’ and ‘process’ and ‘boards’ and ‘plans.’

School officials say ICE agents have detained four children in the Minneapolis area in recent weeks, including a 5-year-old boy named Liam Ramos, who was detained on Tuesday along with his father as he returned home from preschool.
Patty O'Keefe, who was violently arrested while monitoring ICE activity, says one agent told her, "You guys got to stop obstructing us. That's why that lesbian bitch is dead," referring to Renee Good.
Thanks Karen! Looking forward to catching up at MCN 2026 as well :)
We’re thrilled to share that CSHL Associate Professor Jeremy Borniger (@jborniger.bsky.social) has received the 2026 Bakewell Emerging Leader Award from The Mark Foundation. His lab is exploring synthetic torpor—a hibernation-like state—as a novel way to slow cancer growth. #ScienceMakesLifeBetter
