I feel like my best ""selling point"" now is that I am somewhat advanced at screaming as a skill, but I feel so unable to put it to use creatively

Maybe the best example of this is King Yosef, who was one of the bigger names in the music circles I was in pre 2020 (I "remixed" 2 of his songs way back). His music has also been an influence to me so ig it's not far fetched that he progressed artistically in a similar way to my intended direction

It's also been so long since I've made music, and while I have been having ideas all this time, I have really regressed in my ability to actualise anything coherent, making everything I do feel either even more like a poor imitation or like it's trying too hard to avoid being one

Like I don't think I'm having the most original unique ideas but in a world where liking the things I like has been isolating at times, I want to feel like I am able to make something distinct to me and my influences, to have my own creative identity I suppose

I really gotta get over my fear of making music that is "too derivative"
I keep hearing music that already exists that sounds really close to what I am planning and second guessing my place and direction artistically
