Maybe a hot take but ethics of piracy aside it’s been kind of refreshing see Japanese creators say “hey can you please not pirate our stuff?” to fans directly. It’s admittedly fun seeing them try to justify their theft to their favorite creators themselves and not get gratitude back.

Hopped on the trend!

Keep bullying studios who pull this crap. Stamp out AI from every creative medium. They’ll get away with it if we let them. They make it sound like a mistake chalked up to “management” but it’s sus that a blunder like this makes it past so many people in animation.

There is not much in this world that fills me with more unease and fear than seeing a flying insect in your room of some kind you can’t quite make out and then losing track of it.

Funimation always guaranteed physical releases. They even pushed stuff out without dubs, and they always kept a schedule of what was coming. The brand was corporate but you knew the people behind it cared about fans.

Then they bought out their competition and realized they didn’t beed to do that.

Extremely funny that Netflix billed Steel Ball Run as coming out March 2026 and then just released one episode only to say the rest of the cour is dropping in the fall. Bare minimum to avoid false advertising. Hilarious. I’m glad we’re not letting them get away with this.

“Oh I was thinking ‘like a swimsuit?’ like what do you mean?”

Some people live life completely unplugged from certain discourse and they walk among us.

Reminded there’s a whole other world tonight at Easter dinner when my sister brought up Grey’s Anatomy getting another season and I blurted “ever since someone on Twitter called Grey’s Anatomy white women’s One Piece” and they all stared at me blankly for a moment and one asked “what’s One Piece?”

Decided to binge Tamon’s B-Side. I’m 5 episodes in now but what a delight! Visually funny, heartfelt, and just the mushy shoujo good time I need in life right now. And Saori Hayami has lots of creative space to show her chops. You’ll always be center to me, Tamon!

One other problem I have with the Crunchyroll Anime Awards: since its inception there has never been a WRITING/STORY category!!! The writing is so crucial to any anime and a lot of people claim to care about it! But sure, let one of the few big changes you make be adding a slop best isekai category.

Ostensibly Disney wanted to be proactive and just get a bunch of money before Theft Machine AI allowed anyone to generate Mickey Mouse without royalties. But they didn’t seem to consider the long term harm to their brand allowing consumers unfettered access to their IPs. The courts are our best bet

Writers and artists NEED to defend our industries from the inside because cynical as it sounds, regular people will not go to bat for us. In fact they WANT to see more AI. We haven’t gotten fully corporate backed AI movies, albums and books because artists are fighting tooth and nail to stop it.

Another grave consequence of social media shortening attention spans. They stop caring about stuff after a few weeks.

“You’re still on the AI is a theft machine that voraciously consumes resources thing? Yawn. There’s a new Fruit Love Island on Tiktok and I have to stan Miss Strawberry.”

The mass adoption of AI among the public has been so blackpilling. So many friends and family using it and just shrugging it off despite their previous concerns.

Continuing to watch #Toonami every week. I get into my favorite pajamas, have crappy makeshift chicken mac and cheese and have ice cream later. It’s my weekly reprieve from life.

That said Rooster Fighter is quite…something. Lol.

My anime aura of +30000. My selected
anime were Angel Beats, shiki, school rumble, fullmetal alchemist brotherhood, Darker than black (not shown), clannad after story, violet evergarden, steins gate and vinland saga season 2. Plus 15K for the kyoani trauma bond, minus 5K for the FMAB safety choice and plus 20K for shiki appreciation

T-LESS THAN TWO HOURS BEFORE I CAN PARTAKE IN THE CRITERION FLASH SALE

That’s what I’m thinking. I just suppose that if the anime is fairly accurate, I’ve never seen what the problems have been because they were always fine to me, but I’m not a hardcore Chainsaw Man reader.

Chainsaw Man fans can decry the ending all they want, I guess but I simply cannot trust manga fans who complain about their series’ endings given the track record with the anime adaptations. Attack on Titan? Fine ending. My Hero Academia? People loved it. BLEACH is shaping up to be similar.

You can criticize Sentai for not knowing how to get out of obscurity but they at least put out the few things they do have, even putting some older out of print stuff from the 2010s back into print.

Ridiculous. Such a pathetic downgrade from what Funimation used to be. All these companies have huge libraries and insist on offering 1-2 Blu-rays a month. I’d suggest sublicensing stuff but we all know the endgame is to lock everything behind streaming. Absolutely disgraceful.

You think March is late? It should be illegal that Crunchyroll has gone from January to MAY in the last decade!

Oh my goodness, it’s so annoying! People who know nothing of sound mixing and don’t even realize that Japanese is the same way.
