In 1977, Vincent Price starred in a one-man-show where he played openly gay Oscar Wilde; it was condemned by Anita Bryant. When asked about her condemnation, Price replied that Wilde had already written a play about Anita: “A Woman of No Importance”

my favorite thing about RPGs is collecting 300 rare items ‘just in case’ and then never using them because what if i need them later?

This decision STRESSED me out because internally I was always like "you end up with a keyblade... so you HAVE to pick blade!"

Time stood still when they died.

That’s the thing they don’t tell you about grief. For some of us, everything stops—not for a moment, but for days. Weeks. Months. Years.

Sure, there are moments of happiness and joy. For a moment, you might even forget they’re gone. But then night comes. The world grows quiet. Suddenly, you’re hunched over, cradling yourself in your own arms, sobbing. Always quietly, so you don’t wake anyone. Yet the grief you’re holding inside burns like fire. You want to scream. You want to throw things. You might even want to burn the world down.

But you can’t.
Instead, you force yourself to smile and get through the day. Even though every day ends the same way—in a fetal position, wishing you could cry out for your mother. But she’s dead, and you’re not a kid anymore.

There are moments when you haven’t thought about it for a while—maybe even weeks or months. Then a familiar scent fills the air. Suddenly, you realize you can’t remember what their hands felt like. You start to forget every inch of their face. Their voice. The unique sound of their laugh.

You close your eyes, wishing—praying—to remember every moment with them. You replay every conversation you can remember. Then you realize the memories of their death burn brighter than the memories of their life.

You’ll recall every hospital visit, every sick day, even the days when they seemed like their normal self. You’ll find yourself back in that hospital room as the doctors tell you there’s nothing more they can do. It’s time.

For some of us, it doesn’t feel real. Your mind goes numb. You don’t feel anything—yet. You watch as your family gathers around, all eyes on the body taking its final breaths. The sound of their death rattle etches itself into your brain.

They say time heals all wounds, but years pass, and the wound is still gaping.

Grief is the one thing that never leaves you.

i needed to get these feelings off of my chest. we all deal with grief, and i think hiding away with it can do more harm.

that is why i want to share this personal passage. maybe someone out there can relate.

to anyone grieving this holiday… you aren’t alone. i see you. 🖤
