It isn't even noon on the East Coast yet, and Caleb Bonemer already has a homer.
Fifth of the season with High-A Winston-Salem for the No. 3 White Sox prospect. That puts him in a tie for the South Atlantic League HR lead.
Billy Donovan is leaving Chicago after six seasons with the Bulls.
The Reinsdorfs anchored their decision-making on the hopes the coach would stay.
Now, they face two crucial hiring processes on their own.

Barbara Flynn Currie and Lawrence Bloom (then Hyde Park alderman) meet with Lee Botts, a candidate for the Metropolitan Sanitary District, March 1986.
The Herald obituary for my old neighbor and state rep. Barbara Flynn Currie is worth your time. (Includes a picture with our old alderman.)

LOS ANGELES ANGELS, 2011 Clevinger’s girlfriend from his early days as an Angels prospect told Finestead he “chucked my keys at my head,” and that though he missed, the pitcher “threw them hard enough they bent my keys.” The woman confirmed her correspondence with eyeblack and said that in 2023, she told a league investigator about her allegedly abusive relationship with Clevinger.
MLB and Clevinger's attorneys defended the league's investigation. But MLB won't disclose its process, citing privacy concerns.
So [eyeblack] obtained:
-police reports from two different women
-court docs
-social media posts
-photos
-and video
to better understand what MLB knew. One example:
Olivia Finestead said she recorded this call a month after MLB completed its investigation. The voice she insists is Clevinger's tells her she's a "fucking prostitute" and says he's "coming for" her child.
She told a judge she had this footage. Also the cops.
And in 2023, she said she told MLB.
Munetaka Murakami is the first player since at least 1900 with five or more home runs and 20+ walks in his first 22 career games
He’s just the ninth player in that span with 20+ walks in his first 22g and one of two in the last 70 years (1995 Quilvio Veras)
Since 2015, Mike Clevinger is one of two players MLB probed under its domestic violence policy but didn't suspend. His ex-fiancée says MLB enabled the former star to keep harassing her, including this call where she says he threatened her.

How about that.
Munetaka Murakami is the second player since at least 1900 with two home run streaks of 3+ games within his first 22 career MLB games, joining 2017 Rhys Hoskins
There have been 8 home runs at 114+ mph this season
Munetaka Murakami is the only player with two of them
Look, if Murakami keeps giving Sarah Langs reason to update this post, I am going to repost the updates each and every time.
Munetaka Murakami’s eight home runs are the most of any Japanese-born player in his first 22 MLB games
He has three more than any other Japanese-born player in first 22 MLB games, ahead of Shohei Ohtani, who had five in his first 22 games as a hitter
At least the Sox have an unsurmountable lead today. Right? RIGHT?!
Based on the postgame show, I would be unsurprised to see someone else managing the Mets' next game on Tuesday.
You wonder when changes will come in Queens.
That's the Craig Kimbrel I remember in Chicago.
The Mets are leading the Cubs off a solo HR by their hot new acquisition MJ Melendez.
Same game, same team, same streak (for now), totally different bodies. Ohtani and Keeler, showing baseball is magical.
Chris Getz was happy about trading Luis Robert Jr. so he could spend on the bullpen.
Munetaka Murakami’s seven home runs are the most of any Japanese-born player in his first 21 MLB games
He has two more than any other Japanese-born player in first 21 MLB games, ahead of Shohei Ohtani, who had five in his first 21 games as a hitter
Munetaka Murakami’s six home runs are the most of any Japanese-born player in his first 20 MLB games
He surpassed Shohei Ohtani, who had five in his first 20 games as a hitter
I wish the photo of Bo Jackson showed exactly what he was reacting to (Ozzie Guillén pinching his nose to describe the stinker of a game the Sox played).
I wish I was in Chicago for this.
Goodbye, old neighbor (and incredibly effective representative).
