Inspired by @neilaglet.bsky.social I decided to draw my own Doom. I contemplated the idea that there is a person trapped inside the armor, so I reduced the expressiveness of the mask and tried to invest his eyes, the only thing of him we can see, with vulnerability.

I think everyone should draw doom.

If you have to have your opinion heard on on the moral or ethical side, that is fine, but I won't engage with the issue on that level.

If anyone has any practical questions about text-to-image AI, I'll answer them if I can.

I think it's fine if people judge me harshly. Nothing I have said is a defense of my use of AI. I'm just explaining why I do it. The moral and ethical issues are not something I feel like discussing in public, but it seems important to address it somehow.

Low-dollar custom art, clip art, and public domain art will all fail the task of signalling to the audience. I don't have the time to create the art myself. Many artists won't even do art for erotica. It's a tough position.

I'm not saying any of this to excuse my use of AI generated images.

The most vital job of the cover of an erotic story is something called signalling. The image has to associate itself with arousal in the mind of the potential reader. That usually means having a character that the reader finds appealing. This puts me in a bind.

I'm sure some of you will look at my stories and note that I used AI for most of the elements of the covers. I know not everyone is okay with that; I think that's fine. There are a few conditions that make it make sense for me.

In addition to writing, I am a visual artist. Currently, none of my stories have cover art by me, which is a shame. I'll have to work on that.

I've been playing tabletop role-playing games since 1983, with the then-ubiquitous Frank Mentzer edited red box, with the @larryelmore.bsky.social cover.

Right now, I'm working on an erotic story that has a trans man in it. Trans characters are usually completely objectified in erotica, but I wanted to create one with an inner life and avoid fetishizing him. He lives in a world with medieval level technology, so the idea of transition is not there.

One of my best players is my partner. We started doing some spicy side stories with their character. I discovered a knack for writing erotica, so here I am!
