J. Jackson minces no words in her dissent in today's conversion therapy case: "It is baffling that we could now be standing on the edge of a precipitous drop in the quality of healthcare services in America. But the Court sees fit to bring us one step closer to that fate today."

More from J. Jackson on what today's #SCOTUS decision could mean: "So, to put it bluntly, the Court could be ushering in an era of unprofessional and unsafe medical care administered by effectively unsupervised healthcare providers."

Powerful words from J. Jackson in today's #SCOTUS conversion therapy case: "Before now, licensed medical professionals had to adhere to standards when treating patients ... Today, the Court turns its back on that tradition. And,
to be completely frank, no one knows what will happen now."

Trump’s Voting Nemesis Is at the Supreme Court. We Can’t Afford for SCOTUS to Get It Wrong. Even the court’s conservative justices should have a hard time swallowing arguments that violate so many pillars of legal reasoning.

Voting by mail has been an important part of our democracy since the Civil War, but the ability to vote by mail is under attack at #SCOTUS today. Read more from @davidhgans.bsky.social: slate.com/news-and-pol...

My latest @Slate on the huge upcoming S. Ct case attacking voting by mail. The legal challenge butchers the text of federal law and turns a blind eye to the long history, dating back to the Civil War, of states permitting post-Election Day receipt of absentee ballots.

We Seem to Have the Supreme Court’s Originalism Fail of the Term The court is becoming “a dried husk of whatever people used to think it was.”

Bonus 183: Martin v. Mott The Trump administration claims Justice Story's 1827 ruling establishes the President's unreviewable power to decide when domestic use of the military is needed. It doesn't come close to saying that.

The Trump administration's arguments that the federalization of the National Guard can't be reviewed by the courts are just plain wrong. Read more about our amicus briefs setting the record straight from @stevevladeck.bsky.social: www.stevevladeck.com/p/bonus-183-...
