Lead is slightly addictive I heard.
So – the more lead poisoning you have personally experienced, the less likely you are to support measures for cutting exposure.

“He's a walking red flag” sounds like the kind of stridently left wing ditty my prosecco-socialist neighbour† starts singing after the 4th glass.
† he owns two houses and two apartments
I can name one other party. Honestly I wish I could name several.
The way to get this dealt with wouldn't be omplaining to the BBC about bias. It's complaining to the elections people that Reform haven't declared the bias as a benefit in kind donation.
At plausible rates, Reform might need to list the BBC as their biggest disclosed donor.
Looks like someone is already passing off 😉

I would much rather have an impartial BBC.
Check out the size of that combined accommodation cabin and engine room. Wow.
Back then all narrowboats came in forward and reverse layout.
A large crowd as always at the weekly march in Tbilisi. Georgians have been protesting in 8+ cities every day for the last 507 days.
Mr Trump was elected by those who voted for him, not by people who stayed away.
Those voters will have to remember for the rest of their lives that they supported such a monster.
I imagine the person whose behaviour you're copying is a vile racist, because that's what a reasonable person could infer from their actions.
Here's what's truly damning: the "sky protection" didn't coincide with a new telescope, a new research program, or a funding increase. It coincided with the completion of a private residence in the area. Connect the dots. 🏗️ [9/10]
I think you have imperfect understanding of the summary that was posted. Where did you read up to?
If two people conspire to commit an offence, the sentence can be even longer. For example, if one of them does the illegal thing for the benefit of their employer.
Just a thought.
I don't agree with shutting it down, but a mandated rebranding would be champion.
Money.
It's unfortunate that the photo credit comes from an organisation, the IDF, that represents a nation headed by someone wanted for genocide.
The world cannot forget the holocaust in the mid 20th century. And because Israel does remember, it's a shame to see their army involved in war crimes today.
I usually wouldn't share a hyperlink from someone I don't know who is asking for money.
It might be genuine, but most of these things are posted by slaves or other exploited people who don't get any of the funds sent in.
It's circumstantial.
But it is possibly also grounds for a prosecution on the grounds that you shouldn't claim funding for accommodation that is used to commit a crime.
† no not really
Someone already built a rotating house that actually has waste, mains water, electricity all provided even though the house rotates.
Clearly† someone needs to introduce the builder to the architect behind this one, as the nerd homeowner market is currently underserved.
I genuinely think the best way for "tech bros" to be assured of a long life is to protect democracy and the rule of law.
I asked an AI to critique it; it said that interrupting people by removing a tool is disruptive but doesn't convincingly imply actual deskilling.
Also that the inferential leap to long-term societal effects is unsupported, and the self-report moderator analysis is doing more work than it should.
Trams are OK if you have legacy heavy rail lines or the city has a few obvious arterial routes. Honestly I think that the thing that's right for Leeds is a PRT vehicle that has rubber tyres and can run in a guideway.
Leeds is a triangle (airport, Leeds, Bradford) where flexible travel matters more.
There's a problem of distorted markets. If the MOD says "we want a prototype for a main battle tank, how much?" and the bidders say "800 million quid", what to do?
One of the many wrong answers is to say "what if we asked for the same thing but offered a quarter of the lowest bid?"
The UK is an ally of Ukraine. That's not a secret.
This is all good stuff, and if the options are either "trams" or "status quo ante" then I would often recommend trams.
But, there's a problem. Trams rarely pass the "What Would Jaime Lerner Do?" test. Picking trams has the opportunity cost of not picking something better.
To ram the same point home, even if medical research couldn't show that people with unaddressed gender dysphoria were at higher risk of self harm, other challenges — civil society could still just believe the people who had that or a similar situation.
Incentives for demand management are a great way to encourage adoption of an efficient solution, whether that's better insulation, cogeneration, local batteries, heat storage, whatever.
A big industrial site could install fuel cells and then use the hydrogen in whatever way pays out best that day.
Imagine if the UK had insisted that some fields were operated significantly below the profit-maximising extraction rate, and now had a tap that could be turned on within days or weeks to increase supply.
That might have been a really wise strategy. Anyone disagree?
The best way to manage the risk of a supply / demand match for UK energy is to gradually raise tax on the forms that we know will run out.
It's great if that also helps the UK meet its UNFCC commitments, but steering the market would be a good idea even if global warming were all a big hoax.
