Do you mean Douglas St? That little bit of Douglas has alley access (and also the light at 4th). My question is why they don't make Edgewood one way for that stretch since drivers will no longer be able to turn left...

Or just use the crosswalk...
Now if you want something that can handle CDs *and* cassettes, there's an interesting Kickstarter making the rounds. A little pricey, though... www.kickstarter.com/projects/bum...
Any name-brand $30-$40 USB drive would probably be fine, then, if you are just looking for CDs (and DVDs). The Best Buy in Columbia Heights apparently has two options in stock for just under $40 (one LG, one Asus).
Blu-ray would be pricier and also getting harder and harder to come by.
What's your criteria for "decent"?
iFixIt gave it a 6/10, which is a great score for an Apple product. And that's driven down more by soldered RAM/storage.
It seems they're getting out a bit ahead and testing some things before the EU requirement for user-replacable batteries kicks in (it's "only" 18 screws holding the battery in!)
At least she has a Dupont Circle PO Box on the campaign website. A website that also has a prominent "Give with Crypto" link that defaults to giving the equivalent of $10,000...
One week from tomorrow!
The whole thing baffles me, but this one especially.
Not that pesky things like the "law" really matter to this group... *sigh*
Kinda. My read is that it's more that they made an exception for towers/spires/smokestacks/chimneys/etc. on the roof that those wouldn't count against the building so long as they were not for occupancy, but the exception could be misapplied to this monstrosity.
Could they argue that this is not a "building" but largely a "tower" that is not for human occupancy and therefore can exceed the limit so long as it is fireproof?
A little slice of it!
"Go to Peacock and enjoy the women's race" - wish I could, Phil. Wish I could...
Would've been nice if Tadej could've won (having all 5 monument titles at once would've been a "really big deal") but really happy for Wout.
Super annoyed that it's still more than 30 minutes until coverage starts of the women's race.
The signs sometimes give it away (at least for our recent round Solar Solutions was very particular in using the "Ask me how I got free solar!" signs for just the leased installs)
I wonder if they're leasing? There are still incentives there that the company can pass on in their pricing, so a number of neighbors who missed out on our group buy last year have been still very much interested in the more recent sales pitches.
My survey also included VO in the "who would you vote for" question.
Now, if they had also asked about Kathy Henderson, I would not have been able to contain my laughter...
Though for the love of God if one of the statements to evaluate had been @janeese4dc.bsky.social often doesn't use ALT text I might have had to answer that it was concerning...
Have fun! It's generally OK on a normal sized bike but very tight with a trike or something else oversized.
Photo of a port-a-potties blocking in the bike lane at 10th and Monroe NE to accommodate construction workers in the area.
What about port-a-potties?
Fun getting these "independent" surveys that ask me to "randomly" evaluate how concerned I am about one mealy mouthed anti-McDuffie statement and then roughly 20 anti-JLG statements that would be comical for their absurdity if I didn't know they are "serious" attempts at attacks.
I wonder if he'd make the same argument in a 2nd Amendment case...
And 4 blocks north! Mildly impressive.
There are other fun quirks around here like the 3/4 mile drive from 500 Regent Place to 474 Altezza Drive, even though the two townhouses literally face each other...if only EYA had taken that option for Phase 4...
I often wonder what the approval process is for these "private" street names. The ones nearby that baffle me the most are the 600 blocks of Kenneth and Lancaster NE (they kept the same construct as Kearny and Lawrence but just mixed it up a bit), though at least they're "fine" names, I guess.
Just mind the stairs!
By design the front only engages after the rear does. Which is great for avoiding the type of crash they fear (applying only the front and flipping over the bars) but terrible for teaching how to properly use both brakes to stop safely.
And because of how it is designed you need to keep adjusting the rear as the pad wears to get the front to engage (not something their market is keen to do), and the overall stopping power is much reduced. It *sounds* like it could be a good thing but in practice I'd be very wary.
My Edgewood EYA home isn't much denser than what they're building there; the big differences being that we (1) don't have future larger residential buildings planned for nearby and (2) we're quite a bit more convenient to Metro.
(Though it seems EYA disowned us; we're not on their website!)
