Leaf Blowing should be illegal.
It does nothing but cause worse air particulates, cleaning is deferred, not performed. It’s disruptive, noisy, gas burning.
Pick up a damn rake.

An older flyover shot worth sharing of a small corner of the map.
No… dialogue systems are difficult…
This UI ain’t it.

Okay, that’s just too many drones.. for this plot of land.. (hitbox stress test)
Maybe the neighboring plot could use some to help automate farm care?

Drones in a farm sim game?
It’s more likely than you’d think.
They require energy management to run though.

This is exactly my own sentiment too. Not only do I love hoping back into classics but it’s how I want to approach my own game. No formula outside of genre norms, let the game be raw and imperfect. And explore the unexplored. Having worked AAA content. Indie is far more beautiful overall.
Inquire overhauling a tool system to be rust compatible and you’ll definitely grab attention. And for good reason!
I also got to say I am super proud of myself for starting to make my own game.
I want my game to have soul and passion. It’ll take a while but man does it already feel wonderful to do.
While I’ll be hyper focused on developing a whole TV Pipeline by day, “Deep Roots” won’t be slowing down too much.
Some wins from 2024:
- Published my first Book “An Absurd Perspective”
- Learned latte art
- Credits in Disney’s Wish and Moana 2
- Passed a FAANG interview (not hired though)
- Offered a supervisor role at Sony (hired)
- Learned Unreal Engine
- Learned Rust coding
- leveled up my sense of selfworth
I think from now on, to not generate impending anxiety for setting new goals. I will now be celebrating my wins of the past year. This way I focus on validating that I can do more seeing as I’ve done things prior, instead of wishful thinking.
If you work in a small #CGStudio or #devteam, please please PLEASE take time to not only document your workflow, but also document the “patterns” your team utilizes for achieving your creative goals.
Singleton Handlers, Facades, MVC?
It’s easier to decide scope new features with a real guideline.
Many developers will opt to optimize code to run as performant as possible too soon.
It is important to have code that functions in a timely manner, but if you work somewhere with a render farm, two machines distributing tasks is still 200% better than a 50% faster single machine.
Horizontal scaling
For any #shotgrid users out there looking to code in #python for automation. Study up on web based coding in general.
You’ll still need to know a bit of python but you can start learning python using this topic.
Itll feel heavy and dense at first but learn CRUD and webhooks. Then, you’re golden
For any #3DArtist out there looking to learn #python but not sure where to start, do what I did:
Generate a cube using Python.
Now generate a line of cubes.
Now generate a line of cubes in a sine wave pattern.
Now make them alternate between black and white materials.
Now make them randomly scatter.
I haven’t really gotten into text centric social media platforms before so I am new here.
But maybe it is a good place to either offer advice and guidance on CG 3D Productions. Or maybe rant a little on the industry.
I guess it’s safe to say I know a thing or two on the topic..
