the Epstein files are really devastating because they remind me of how many girls and women miss out on professional opportunities, mentorship and careers because of how many powerful, rich and influential men only view girls and women — and interactions with them — through the lens of sex
The Trump admin has shut down the CIA’s World Factbook, a country reference that for six decades has provided data on birth and death rates, major exports, and more. Long used by government officials and by researchers, educators, and journalists, the database was taken offline today.
Starbucks baristas have done everything right — organized, bargained, and stood together.
But the CEO still refuses to offer a fair contract or end union busting.
If baristas go on strike, our response is simply DON’T BUY STARBUCKS.

Jane Timken: “well, the word fairness is not in the constitution!” … that’s really how you want to play this redistricting thing? really?
not the republicans in the statehouse blaming democrats for the fact that republicans don’t have maps ready 🥴
🚨 Ohio is redrawing its congressional districts, and the Constitution demands an open, transparent process. But as @ohiocapitaljournal.com reports, lawmakers haven’t even released a map for public review before hearings. That’s not what voters approved in 2018. 🧵
which, depending on who you ask, job seekers get ghosted about every 3 in 5 times, and 8 in 10 hiring managers have ghosted candidates; which can't possibly feel good or sustainable for anyone involved).

It could incentivize job seekers to write more thoughtfully (instead of having a generative AI to do it more them), and incentivize job posters to consider applicants more thoughtfully (instead of just ghosting them...

In a world where each job application requires an essay (AKA cover letter), a few short answer paragraphs, and even sometimes complete assignments for the companies, it almost feels like perhaps applicants should be paid for their work and effort in applying to jobs. www.refinery29.com/e...

are we really so afraid of students’ free speech? what’s next?
in light of dei bans, assault on free speech, and limitations of protest, this certainly doesn’t feel supportive of students. (and as a former student org treasurer, I can tell you that chalking was the cheapest way to prove you were promoting an event in order to secure funding from the university)
if you ever attended osu, you’ll know that chalking has long been a common way for students to communicate with each other, whether to say “good luck with finals week” or to promote a student org event or to express protest. the timing of this is suspicious
last week the ohio state university decided (embarrassingly) to ban chalking……. chalking. really? of all things? www.thelantern.com/2025/08/ohio...

Ohio had the sixth-highest unemployment of any state in April. The news comes after years of state officials spending billions on economic growth programs tilted heavily toward the wealthy buff.ly/PEnzVbR
....Remind me again, why do we want "very sick kids" dying from measles when it is preventable?
Earlier this year, ProPublica found that the sepsis rate in second-trimester pregnancy loss hospitalizations increased by more than 50% under Texas’ abortion ban.
Here’s how we did our analysis.

the media is going to assist in making youth transgender care illegal and then they’ll move onto their next goal of making it illegal across the board. anyone going along with this is a fascist

FBI Director Kash Patel @FBIDirectorKash Just NOW, the FBI arrested Judge Hannah Dugan out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin on charges of obstruction — after evidence of Judge Dugan obstructing an immigration arrest operation last week. We believe Judge Dugan intentionally misdirected federal agents away from the subject to be arrested in her courthouse, Eduardo Flores Ruiz, allowing the subject — an illegal alien — to evade arrest. Thankfully our agents chased down the perp on foot and he’s been in custody since, but the Judge’s obstruction created increased danger to the public. We will have more to share soon. Excellent work @FBIMilwaukee .
The FBI just arrested a sitting judge.
so, arresting judges should be more than enough reason for complete obstruction at in the house and senate. complete obstruction. anything you can do. interrupt proceedings, deny consent, holds on nominations.
everything.
