Sam Shepard and Johnny Dark met in the early '60s. Dark married a woman named Scarlett and Shepard married her daughter O-Lan. They all lived together, until Shepard left them for Jessica Lange. Their shared history is documented in the deeply moving film SHEPARD & DARK (2012).
