I can't speak for anyone else who has released an indie pilot, but I think it's because the barrier to make a 15+ minute animation has been lowered. And I mean. Grass grows, birds fly, and brother, I make keyframes.

The view is from the inside of a cave looking out. The right side of the frame is dominated by a pink figure with a scribbled dot for a head. Before it is a desert, dominated by stone visages. Great stone pillars interrupt the vista. Towering structures can be seen to the left of the frame. Including a ridged purple structure that runs from the bottom of the frame to the top. Far off, in the center of the frame, is a golden palace built right under wax dribbling off the edge of a great barrier.
I remember when they gave us different wallpapers for our Pokemon Boxes, I'd sort the Pokemon I'd caught into their preferred environment. I imagine Pokopia scratches that itch.

A developer I follow straight up has 3 lines of text in the upper corner of the stream that are meant to discourage this kind of Twitch Chat Behavior. It sucks having to deal with that while you're trying to do something cool with people.

The computer monitor head went through a number of iterations. I originally wanted the mouth and eye to break out of the screen, leaving their face a shattered mess. But the more I make it like a human mouth the worse it is to look at so we have the version that exists now.
I wanted something that suggested retirement or taking it easy. So the grey slutty sweatpants was a given. But the "INFLUENCER" sweater was something I actually found while clothes shopping. I even ordered another one off eBay because it is a discontinued piece, just in case.
