I can be curious about new technology all day and still be convinced that what we’re calling AI is exploitative and a net bad. It’s on devs to show me how new tech fixes these basic weaknesses, not on me to presume each iteration is fine until users prove otherwise

So I just saw Predator:Badlands…did anyone else think that to make Elle Fanning into the villain they just gave her the Kristen Bell hairstyle?

Good to know that even in 2025, the govt just needs to pantomime the words “antitrust exemption” and MLB comes running

I agree with you to an extent, but there are always people who have been misguided and can change.

I’m mixed-race myself, and I’ve seen lots of people my age who were all but racist 20 years ago (by today’s standards) realize their past mistakes. The tent doesn’t need to be locked up tight

But how many were county vehicles paid for with tax dollars?

(Tbh I would have expected this from Bay County, or Pensacola, but not from Fort Myers)

A box for a KitchenAid product that says, dutifully in English and French, “An American Brand Since 1919”

The Costco in Vancouver has had fire sales on KitchenAid products over the past few weeks, and I think I just realized why

Pro tip: you shouldn’t take raw produce across the ocean unless you really like paying a huge fine for the opportunity to throw those fruits and veggies in a biohazard bin

Amid plea to build bridges at papal funeral, Trump has a revelation – about Russia US president’s epiphany that Putin may not want to stop Ukraine war follows ‘symbolic’ talk with Zelenskyy in St Peter’s Basilica

I’m always a little hopeful, but deep down I know Trump sees learning as beneath him and a job for other people - anyone following the war even casually would have realized no later than the day Prigozhin’s plane went down that Putin is on a one-way trip

This is a situation where CNN and the rest of the media can just ignore Elon’s PR team, and decide as a group that it’s a mistake to keep platforming this disturbed couple (and tbh this includes Jezebel reporting on them snarkily)

Movie you’ve watched more than six times using gifs.

(“Hard mode” no Star Wars, Star Trek, or LOTR)

Almost as amazing: only four horses showed up to face him that day, and only that many because the Belmont organizers had to beg and plead with stables that didn’t want to run in a lost cause

It’s been 30 years and I’m still pissed off the CGI boat movie beat this out for Best Picture

Whichever brain trust decided it was a good idea to all but shut down Granville St at the bridge on a Friday at rush hour deserves a good Karening or twelve

I wouldn’t spend that kind of money, but I get why someone might - waiting 20 minutes in the middle of the day for a train that was already crowded when it left Newark Penn is frustrating

Princeton Should Take A Light Touch On ‘Uber’-style Car Service Since Uber quietly launched in New Jersey last year, an increasing number of local residents are finding that it offers a very interesting alternative to traditional cab companies. Users can reserv…

In 2015 I wrote a blog saying that we should allow Uber to operate in Princeton because taxicab companies were totally ripping us off. We did allow Uber, and now, mysteriously, the fares charged by traditional taxicab companies have dropped a lot. Interesting!! walkableprinceton.com/2015/01/08/p...
