When I was first told everyone back home that I was moving to the PNW, they'd always talk about 'omg but it rains all the time. it's so dreary!' I've been out here for 6 years now.

It's been sunny and beautiful all weekend and I've been bummed that it's not raining and overcast 🫠

My husband is NC w/ his dad but rekindled w/ his mom after decade of NC. She wanted to change and she did just that. They talk on the phone every weekday. I have a great relationship w/ her too. She's been more of a mother than my own ever was.

I wish mine would but I am happier w/o until they do.

My boomer parents are the stereotypical emotionally immature. kind. They've never kept contact w/ me but if my mom did call, the entire convo was her talking and never asking about me.

I'm NC w/ her and I only text w/ my dad (but that's fine cos he's why I have the audhd lmfao).

I guess this is the year for literally fixing myself. Finally made eye appt because I'm struggling with what's probably just binocular vision disorder.

I can't keep blaming everything on perimenopause lmfao. But if I make a dentist appt, just give me the grippy socks now.

I took Monday off to have a 3-day weekend and I feel like such a dork for being excited. Why? I want to go through stuff I haven't used in months and donate it.

Tried out one of those heatless foam curlers and wore it to sleep to see how it would look in the morning.

My audiologist appt went as expected. Both of my eardrums looked healthy. Buuut the hearing test showed I have profound hearing loss in my right ear. Audiologist suggested BiCROS and cochlear implant.

Dr put in an order for a head MRI and then May is my follow up appt. Took me long enough tbh.

The enshittification of the internet still manages to surprise me. I've been a Trakt.tv VIP user for years now and it's like every other week they make changes to dump on the service.

Love to see the reduction/limitation of features after an increase in subscription$.

I can't believe it's been almost 3 years since I've played any kind of video game aside from Stardew Valley on my Switch.

I'm not even sure that I miss it. Hell, I don't even think I've turned my pc *ON* in 2 years as my MPB is my daily driver now.

I finally made an appt with an otolaryngologist (say that 10 times fast) for my right ear's deafness.

I can only hope for it to be decades of impacted earwax and once its gone I can hear again... But I'll accept any dx at this point.

I've been watching Initial D for the last week and the character Keisuke looks like the Sherminator. It's been making me laugh every time his face is on screen.

My entire well-being has dramatically improved with my title change at work. I didn't realize just how jaded and burnt out I had become. Everyone has noticed how much more relaxed and happy I am.

And I am. I'm excited about turning 40 this year!! Wow that was weird to read.. me .. 40!? Fuuuuu

I’m finally gonna cave in and buy a new ereader. My Kindle is over 15 years old so I think it’s okay to buy a new device :P

Thinking of going with an 8” b/w only since I want it to read more manga.

Finished my week of working in the ED. Almost had a measles scare today. Which resulted in me having to talk to infection control to have them look at my vaccine record.

Anyway I’m not immune to Rubella or Chickenpox so I gotta get vaccinated again so that’s gonna be fun.

I'm having a blast with all the older anime I've started this month. I've been watching Peach Girl (shits batshit nuts), Initial D, Sailor Moon Stars, Slam Dunk, and Bleach.

And also maybe not totally already at ep 179 for my Shippuden rewatch. I have no other hobbies. :)

I've been having a blast watching anime from the 90s and early 00s. I wanted to see what I missed out on!

Everything has been so good with some hidden gems. Just started Slam Dunk and holy shit this is hilarious so far.

Not sure how I felt about the final episode for Stranger Things. I guess it was okay.

But that doesn't change my love for s1. It was such a fun experience!!

Work has been really good, I've enjoyed learning everything so far. I'm going to really enjoy the new role.

I'm so fucking glad I didn't have to go on unemployment! And for the first time I get to start off the new year checking off a 'resolution' I've wanted for a long time.

Joe surprised me with perfect figurines for Naruto and Gara.

I can’t believe that Naruto is now one of my favorite characters and anime.

I'm totally gonna spoil my coworkers with some of the nerdiest shit ever as my Christmas. I'm gonna get them all setup with Stremio + realdebrid + get all addons configured in for them. I'm also gonna make a quickstart guide for them to ref.

Woohoo, my job offer came in today (it had wrong union contract) and I just signed it. The pay grade bump is also more than I was expecting so I'm even more excited for this!!

Phew the stress is over. I finally managed to snag a job. Since I’m still classified as a displaced employee, I’m priority for anything I want here so I got the job!

This is so much weight off my shoulders. Even better that it’s the same campus so nothing will change other than increase in pay :D

It used to take me ~45mins to do just the dishes as a kid. I couldn't even stay focused on the task, I'd constantly walk away. Everything felt so OVERWHELMING because I didn't see the task, I saw the whole tree: roots, trunk, branches, leaves...

My poor kid self.

It still blows my mind that I have ADHD and everything I've ever struggled with.. is squashed away with my meds. I used to hate after school chores and I struggled to just do the dishes.

I got home early and just spent the last 1.5hrs banging out some cleaning for the ENTIRETY of that 1.5hrs.

I somehow lucked out with a job. On Monday the campus had a non-clinical spot open up so I applied for it. Had my interview right after work today and the job is mine pending no one with more seniority in the dept applies before Monday.

I hope it follows through for meeeeee

So I've got a month left until I'm fully laid off. It's been hell trying to get an interview for almost a month now. My last job offer was still the same .6FTE that would earn less than if I just did UI.

Hopefully something pops up soon at my campus.

I've been bored w/ current gen anime & decided to check out stuff from 2000-2004. I was in HS then & was already hiding the fact that I played video games & was a pc nerd from everyone. I can't wait to see what I missed out on :D

Currently watching The Twelve Kingdoms; I'm ~enthralled~ by it.
