Thank you for sharing your experience.
That sounds like a thoughtful and comforting way to honour the memory of a loved one. It’s unique just as each relationship is.

I’m sorry for your loss.
I’ve read that writing a letter is sometimes therapeutic.
I thought of this too which get’s me choked up just thinking about it:

I dunno how far the writing and casting process is but I’d suggest SNL’s Sarah Sherman as a long-lost daughter to John Candy’s character of Barf. She’s a great comic with the right amount of odd-ball spin.

Star Trek: Voyager Endgame (2001)
Avengers: Endgame (2019)
In order to revive dead / lost comrades a daring mission into the past is hatched in order to restore lost friends, deal a fatal blow to a ruthless enemy and create a new future with a (mostly) happy ending but not w/o a major sacrifice.
Starting over when you’re older, emotionally isolated & financially-stressed may seem impossible.
I don’t 100% relate to this man’s experience but he offers some insights on ageing alone in America that are interesting.
We are stronger & more resilient than we realize.

An enchanting image that invites the eye and imagination to explore.
Built this rustic bench, plant stand or side table this morning with recycled slabs of doug fir and some 5/8” round rod. Measures 19” deep x 36” wide x 15 1/2” tall. Photos & Fabrication by AJ Fisher

I didn’t use to enjoy many Klingon episodes but this one changed things for me.
The mythology around death was interesting and the correlation of Captain Janeway as a mom-figure was endearing as well as the theme of self-acceptance.
“You mess with time, it tends to mess back.” Tony Stark to Steve Rogers.
“You’ll see.” Tony Stark to Steve Rogers.
Avengers: Endgame (2019) rewatch before the release of Avengers: Doomsday in December.
The line of dialogue from Tony Stark / Iron Man to Steve Rogers / Captain America during the final battle against Thanos seems like a hint at something.
I expect to see a Steve Rogers who didn’t “keep going”.

Sinister!
This is inspired work. Looks right at home in the TOS era. I look forward to one day seeing an animated story or episode of all your various projects & assets together.
That’s a beautiful piece of wood with so much interest. I’m curious to find out what sort of form you might be envisioning as a base or stand.
Is there a theme in mind?
Ugh. In these instances I sometimes try white noise or I engage something light and distracting like watching a DVD.
This too shall pass!
Recently watched this bit from King of the Hill. Found it a humorous & unique character exploration of familiar drama tropes.
All of Bill’s “hidden” abilities sorta pokes fun at the notion of background development in an unexpected & contrary way that’s funny & clever.

Thank you Governor Kotek for defending Oregon against federal overreach.
Our vote-by-mail tradition is under attack by those who no regard for states’ rights.
These are unprecedented times and I support you and Attorney General Rayfield in your ongoing efforts to protect Oregonians.
LPC 2.0 My 2nd try at a Lemon Pound Cake. It came out a little too brown on the bottom again. Going to shave off another 2 minutes from the next bake time. This is a store-bought product however I augmented it with lemon zest in the batter and lemon juice in the glaze. Improved flavour! Photo by AJ Fisher. #lpc

I love this scale of spaceship. I’m estimating by the airlock. Something one could live and explore in comfortably. I may go looking for deck plans of this if they’re out there. Still hoping for an official, complete Fondor haul-craft deck plan.
I’ve no oroblem with hippies lol I used to wear a tie-dye and Birkenstocks when I was a student.
I have some various gauges of round rod and steel tubing at my shop we could look at when the time is right.
I’m also in south eugene several times a week and can meet up over coffee.
Nice work!
A drawing sounds like a good start! That will communicate a lot, quickly.
I’m mostly limited by my tools and knowledge base. I know lots of folks too who know things…
Hopefully a meeting of the minds can come into focus!
A collapsible, radio antenna.
I wonder if any collapsible, nested radio antennae or similar were utilised?
Sci-fi sure has a thing about needles it seems.
The “B” / Excelsior is a graceful design that I’ve always appreciated since Search for Spock but the “C” continues to grow on me as a nice evolution from TMP towards TNG. I’ve never cared for the “J” or any of the futuristic designs as they’re too far removed from the classic configuration for me.
That’s a beautiful piece of wood. Great form and interest.
I can envision this section on an asymmetric stand of some sort; maybe something with scrolls or legs of round rod?
I’m guessing the flat cut would serve as a surface for the clay pot.
Thank you. The scales was a commissioned piece for an Oregon attorney (now judge).
I’m still interested in kinetic sculpture but I haven’t identified a form or theme that interests me enough.
Please feel free to share any drawings or ideas!
I’m vaguely familiar with a Hobart sculpture race.
Saw a rather large bird at my feeder this morning and took a couple photos from a distance. Online sources suggest it was a Band-tailed Pigeon (Patagioenas fasciata), the largest pigeon native to North America. Much larger than the mourning doves I’m used to seeing. I’m hopeful all the creative & committed fans out there will continue to produce their own Trek content and some sort of competitive, crowd-sourced effort might yield strong concepts for official development.
An animated action-drama could pull in legacy voice actors w/o need for makeup, sets, etc.
Great concept!
Final episode might reveal the who & why that attacked them initially.
Being the first of your planet/species to graduate from Starfleet Academy is an accomplishment.
But what’s it like to be the only representative of “Planet X” on a ship of hundreds of humans?
I’d dig into that.
Skip to 1:45 for some hair-raising flying!

An image of a SOFTWARE ETC. storefront in a typical mall in the 1980’s.
Anyone recall going to SOFTWARE ETC.?
I grew up in a small town in the 1980’s but we’d drive to the big city (Portland, OR) mall at least once a year for school clothes shopping.
A stop in Software Etc. was a must. Lots of Sierra Online games like King’s Quest, Space Quest, Black Cauldron & more.
