I don’t think most analysts believe Trump would actually use a nuke or bomb a nuclear facility (God forbid). But the media is, once again, carrying his water to shift the Overton window. Now, anything short of ending their civilization sounds restrained.

It’s not even “based on a true story.” At best, it’s “inspired by real events.”
I’m wondering why so few people are paying attention to what’s going down in Germany with the rise of the right wing parties? The government could very well fall, and with that, a domino effect that would greatly benefit Trump’s (and Putin’s) attempt at a new world.
🤦
When Trump talked about pardoning Netanyahu, everyone said that was dumb and made no sense b/c, o/c, potus doesn’t have pardon power in Israel. However, wouldn’t it be a more typical Trump slip of the tongue if Trump was thinking about crimes Bibi may have committed in the US? 🧐
The President of the United States, clout chaser in Chief, hoping to get some of that Mamdani magic rub off on him.
These would be the “new” emails that his stooges in Congress had already shared with his Justice Dept and for some reason they weren’t important until now, 🤔
Memba the rumor that they werent going through the docs to scrub Trump’s name, but wanted to alter them to lessen how bad it looked? 🤔
Men would rather shut down the government than go to therapy.
@thebulwark.com I hate to be that guy, but this WSJ Trump letter looks a lot like it’s a self-plant. Trump will sue Murdoch and they will settle with a retraction, thereby making anything else that is Trump in the files suspect.
You are correct, I was thinking about the sequestration under Obama due to the BCA, which apparently expired in 2021
I’ve heard the same and I don’t see how a) paygo is avoided and b) that wasn’t part of the plan all along - except it will be interesting to see how they exempt the military from the mandatory cuts 🤷♂️
Yep. For those who don’t already know, roughly 90% of seniors this bill was designed to protect from being taxed on their Social Security already paid little to no federal tax on those benefits before its enactment. (“Fast Facts & Figures About Social Security, 2023” -SSA)
The lies and exaggerations are constant...
This is some grade A, Big Beautiful BS from ssa.gov when in fact, roughly 90% of seniors this bill was designed to protect from being taxed on their Social Security already paid little to no federal tax on those benefits before its enactment. (“Fast Facts & Figures About Social Security, 2023” -SSA)
He said this BS right after two days of keeping his votes open for record amounts of time, well after time expired, because he needed all of that time to strong-arm people to the "simple truth." What a sanctimonious asshat. The GOP had better make sure there are no more so-called "free" elections...
Little known fact, Auschwitz was referred to as “Auschwitz Alcatraz” when it first opened as a camp.
(This is not a fact, but Germany did study the American penal system, segregation, and Jim Crow laws in designing their deportation and concentration camp plans)
Alligator Auschwitz, that’s its name, now and forever. DeSantis and Trump, and everyone cheering this on should never be able to live this down.

The part that should be focused on the most is when they say this is based on the “Judicial Prerogative of the King” originalism with regard to the High Court of the Chancery. #NoKings
Further, there needs to be a large fund afforded to class participants so that everyone can afford a defense. It’s a huge waste of money, but it has to be done.
I would add that for the most part, Trump has had a terrible record in appeals courts. He loses about 70% to 80% of the time, and when he does win that appellate court is reversed by SCOTUS 90% of the time.
This is what I’ve been saying, but establishing standing will be difficult, and in the future Dems will need to have multiple cases, basically crafted with a justification goal in mind, and often playing the long game, to succeed as the GOP has. It’s a different game afoot.
Dems, for the most part, get behind cases as they come, the GOP crafts their cases, even toward a desired goal (often multiple cases). Once again, Dems need to change how they play the game to be proactive. The first biggest issue is establishing standing in ways they have not tried previously.
This is particularly disheartening & do not suggest that being more centrist (as people have been saying) would have improved anything. The lessons learned that were assumed appear incorrect. It also kind of kills the Trump cheated narrative. 😞

I'm not saying there isn't an official or de facto ceasefire, but can anyone name a person on the Israeli and on the Iranian side who is on record officially agreeing to a ceasefire; if so, what are the terms? I've googled and asked our friend ChatGPT, but nothing can be found, only unnamed peeps
I guess every authoritarian is a major wuss?

I did a small edit to the NYT story...
June 22, 2025 - here’s an op-ed from Bret Stephens in the NYT that’s guaranteed to age well…😑
What’s the chance ICE peeps are pretending to be a Jehovah’s Witness to canvass homes?
