little fury things is one of the bigger examples. it's likely their jangly post-punk influence, which strongly influenced early 2nd wave emo as well. when earlier dino wasn't doing noodly solos, power pop, or neil youngy stuff, they had these dissonant melodic jams that sound straight up emo
maybe it's..........GOING VIRAL

i love that the record got you into botch & coalesce. i was enamored by how heavily that album channels those two bands specifically. & yea the recording is a bit rough, very midrange focused & raw. i'd love to hear a new mix too.

When a liberal asks why their peaceful, police-escorted march didn't change anything
but midi packs have melodies & chords that are already laid out. i feel like people who stick to midi packs probably make stuff that is more consistently in tune. but sure, pasting midi pack melodies over midi pack chords can give you the same problem

a shipping sticker with writing on it that says βHow many beautiful, kind people have I killed just by paying my taxesβ. the word βkilledβ is in red ink and the rest is black ink
this is all I can think about these days
the bad thing about producer tools that make chord progressions & melodies easy for beginners is that they don't help w/ ear training. so producers release stuff with unintentionally atonal or "out of key" elements without them noticing them because their software didn't catch it :(
they shoulda called themselves SPELLLING

yes, i think when there's a type of marginalization that's mostly directed toward cis women, there's some version of the same thing directed toward transwomen. with a little twist
