Gosh that would be ugly. But point taken. The way they used to say “all politics is local,” it’s also true of department/university policies. I was recently in a meeting of administrators from across multiple universities and talking about workload policies: the variation was significant.

Oh, so true. Especially in CS programs. I’ve been working on our department’s workload policy and it is such a multidimensional optimization problem. But faculty care most number of courses most, it is interesting.

When you have a job that can eat a lot of time, make sure you find some time for non-work. I’m hoping to make my Bluesky space where I highlight a balance. Twitter was mostly work; FB is mostly personal (although work appears there as well). So, I present my Sunday afternoon work: homemade bread.
