I barely ever buy clothes, and when I do I don’t engage with fast fashion at all. Sports gear is the only time I, again, HAVE to buy from places I wouldn’t otherwise. Lululemon are also a disgusting racist company so despite them allegedly having the best fitting stuff, I won’t go near them.

There’s no ethical consumption under capitalism and these people talk like their brains live in their toes.

Luxury items are always a choice. If you have a *choice* to engage with something, you do it in the most ethical way possible.

For the record I buy local, Black, small, used whenever I can.

…but it’s also how I stay informed/get signposted to certain awful things going on in the world so I can go dig deeper.

It also allows me to stay connected to my cultures and remain in my communities.

Why are you a Bluesky elder? There’s no ethical consumption under capitalism but some things you have more choice over than others. Where I buy my coffee is something I have a choice over but not drinking coffee at all would be the true ethical choice.
