All the glam of an NHS loo…to say to you, our health service needs three blood donations every minute to help deal with emergencies, childbirth, and critical treatment. And stocks are low in various cities around the country, so if you can donate, then do! 🩸 @givebloodnhs.bsky.social

Susara balances her job as a women’s health research midwife here at UHD, with a place on the NIHR's INSIGHT programme.

From developing hedge funds in The City, to working towards her Masters of Research at @bournemouthuni.bsky.social, it's been quite a journey!

My heart goes out to this nurse. What a sad and quite frankly, outrageous sign of the times.

Tried desperately to think of a caption that didn’t involve the words ‘blue’ and ‘sky’ but…I’ve got nothing 😆 What a beauty of a day. Brownie points to those who can spot the tell-tale signs of our fellow beach-goers 🕵🏻‍♀️

Late last year, the final module of The Coast Building at the Royal Bournemouth was installed ahead of schedule.

Set to open in winter 2025, this new facility will provide 110 new beds and enhanced spaces for staff.

Huge thanks to Darwin Group for helping us achieve this brilliant milestone! 🏗️👏🏼

Last week we welcomed @vikkislademp.bsky.social to St Mary’s Maternity Unit. It was a great opportunity to share her personal memories of the unit with colleagues, as well as find out about the future of our maternity services in the new BEACH Building. Thanks for coming, Vikki! #TeamUHD

‘Stop relying on static, one-way comms’ – NHS, Freuds, BMA and more on healthcare PR in 2025 Some of the UK’s top health comms experts share their predictions for the coming year.

It was good to chat with @prweekuk.bsky.social about my reflections on healthcare communications in 2024 and my predictions for this year.

We discussed the importance of being candid about the challenges faced by the NHS, and how we need to rebuild trust.

Talking to staff who were there when my daughter was born there, spaces barely changed but maternity is a wholly different service now, fascinating to learn more

Who said people don’t watch terrestrial TV these days?

Since our partnership with BBC One’s Casualty about blood donation aired on Saturday:

🩸5,000 new donors registered
🩸10,000 extra appointments booked
🩸1,200 booked in first hour.

And remember, a single blood donation can save up to 3 lives!
