Williams says that the bill wouldn't apply to "appropriate drag," and said that it's written in a way that obscenity could be determined by individual law enforcement.
Conservatives *want* the vagary inherent in the law because it makes them, and their police, the arbiter of morality. They don't like the idea of justice being blind.
"Of course we won't go after Shakespeare!" they say honestly, and they're correct.
They'll decide what drag is "appropriate."

The peak of fear mongering. The author claims Ohio HB 249 will jail women for going braless in a T-shirt.
HB 249 is about shielding kids from adult performances & imagery —not policing whether women wear bras, bikinis, or T-shirts.
Twisting it into "women could be jailed for going braless" isn't just wrong
—it's a deliberate misrepresentation.
It's common sense to shield kids' innocence from adult performances & imaginary.
Nothing but perversion - twisting a bill that aims to protect the innocence of children into something it's not. Do better.
Here's the thing:
If legislators didn't intend for HB 249 to be used against women wearing leggings and low-rise jeans, if they didn't mean for it to be used against trans people existing... THEY COULD FIX THE LANGUAGE.
They drafted it that way for a reason. It's naive to think they won't use it.

Image of Jesus at the Last Supper, done as ASCII art after Leonardo da Vinci's painting. The image is made entirely from the character 'X'.
Oh look, it's "The Last Supper" as ASCII art.

*Yes, I know capitalism in practice doesn't actually encourage competition. But the idea that competition produces the best outcome is an argument made by pro-capitalists all the time.

And those better outcomes are framed in a more socialist equity.
I have no idea if this was intentional or incidental, but it does amuse me.
Still don't know the answer to the original question.

I hadn't really heard of this show before reading this post, but now I wanted to know too.
On reading a description of the show's premise on Wikipedia, I'm amused.
On the one hand, it seems to support the capitalist idea* the competition leads to better outcomes.

1. Boy, Amazon is in a heap of trouble. Evidence made public yesterday by California AG @agrobbonta.oag.ca.gov shows blatant price fixing. And there are so many examples. Here's Amazon scheming with a pet food supplier to get Chewy to raise its prices.

Yes. I have to assume that anyone participating in the World Fencing League knows what they're doing and are rightly confident in their style.
I also enjoy the example of someone remaining (relatively) still and small in the face of all those big motions, patiently waiting for the right opening.

NEW PERSONAL WORK
I had a dream I was drawing thumbnails, and - in the dream - sketched this out and titled it "The Dreamer". That was striking enough that I woke up, sketched out the thumbnail in real life, and then sat on it for like eight years. Until now!

Something in this reminds me of the joke that England went to war for control of the world's success, and used none of them.

But what it comes down to is this: do you think the duty of confidentiality exists to protect the *appearance* of proper behavior by judges?
Or is it supposed to protect the *likelihood* of proper behavior?

Which, fine noone should expect better of you just because of your racial or religious identity, but as an elected official you can get used to people demanding better because you are a public servant.

As part of our writing intensive requirements, I have my students essentially write a "response to a readers report" when they submit their revised and expanded essay. I love hearing why the changes they chose to make produce a stronger essay.

(I think this is Instagram)
Photo:
Image is of a small dear in what what looks like a large well lit metro space like a subway station or similar. The photo of the station has one hall going left and right in the foreground and then a Hall going deep into the background where there is an intersection in the far background.
The Small dear I think is a young sika deer so this this is likely East Asia likely Japan. The dear is in the near ground, perpendicular to the photographer, offset to the left of center with their head pointing to the right.
The Metro Space looks like a Subway or Train Station. I am guessing train station.
Given the activity cycle of the Siska dear and the lack of people I assume this is early dusk or late dawn but the areas extensive artificial lighting and being indoors it’s impossible to tell tbe actual time of day. It’s unclear how thre are so few people. This could be a section of the halls quartered off for repairs or construction and the Siska dear wantered past the “area closed” signed. Despite the odd juxtaposition This looks like a real photo and not a composite or Ai. I have seen that Siska deer will wander unit human spaces.
Text of Post:
He moves through a realm not made for him, where order has replaced nature. A world that mirrors the shape of creation but improperly. The mechanisms hum like wind streams without souls, precise but hollow, lacking spirit. Where am I, he wonders.
Sometimes, I understand him.
