moralism Moralists don’t bother with “if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em”; the moralist simply says, “you can’t beat them.” Contend with the horrors of capital with radical acceptance. It is what it is. No right, no wrong, just motion towards or away from… whatever it is you’re trying to do. It’s a kind of seductive joylessness. A relief from moral crisis by leaving morals out of it. Centrists don’t care what’s good, they care what’s feasible, which means, if you make good things feasible, you can get results working with moralists. The crushing irony of the only movement that can accomplish anything good in this world being the one that does not concern itself with goodness. But to work with moralists, you must speak their language. You will have to make arguments in favor of “small genocide,” you will have to put yourself in conflict with people who oppose “small genocide,” and you will have to accept that there are arguments - made by your compatriots - that the shelling of Revachol, from a certain point of view, was… productive. After all, the Moralists are the ones who did it. The war crime that stabilizes a region is not, to them, a “necessary evil”; if it was necessary, it was no evil at all. Why shed tears for what needed to happen?
