To be honest, I don't know what I find worse: the flavor choice or the color... My tongue curls up like a pretzel at the mere sight of it. Just like with licorice-flavored ice cream. Fruit flavors, chocolate, nuts, and alcohol if needed do the trick for me.

Where have the days gone when a full-fledged txt editor was 50kb... Miniprop muf calculator was about the same. And InstantTrack wasn't even 500kb including a world map...

It's the anniversary of the Dwingeloo radio telescope: it was opened by Queen Juliana on 17 april 1956. We celebrated this during the lunch break by reenacting the opening ceremony, with Roelie as her majesty and Michel as Professor Oort. We used the original button, which we recently rediscovered.

Today’s #hamradio project is fitting an ERC rotator control board to an old yaesu G800. The documentation on these is brilliant. This is the 8th I have installed for me or friends!

It must have an awkwardly long cord that someone can vacuum the entire building without plugging it into another socket. The vacuuming round takes quite a while...

We're surprised! Ops team confirms that because the Service Module radio was put into a unique configuration during the SSTV event some RS0ISS beacons sent on 145.825 and 437.550 MHz between images. Based on that the operations and engineering teams are going to go back and look at APRS plans.

Yeah... Well... Nice...

Now let's quickly move that card aside so we can admire that radio!

My supplier, Zonneplan (Solar Plan), pays the purchase price + €0.02 + 10% "solar bonus" for feed-in, and that is unique in the Netherlands. So in the summer, with a all in purchase price of, for example, €0.06, I receive €0.06 + €0.02 + 10% = €0.088 per kWh for feeding back. 2/2

In theory, I could also get free electricity with my variable contract, but the price would have to drop to around -€0.12 to be truly free. This is because we have to pay energy tax and grid management costs on the current price. 1/2

Mission Code Search Tips tl;dr I've mostly fixed this - but take a read just the same. (Spoiler - Tankers are on Iridium). I happen to be DMing with one of the #Twi...

This should be a really helpful blog post for any of you that want to get better at ACARS searching on the website.
While focused on mission codes, the tips will work for any topic.
Please share for visability if you don't mind.

When I worked, I didn't like having two monitors, so I always used one . I do use virtual desktops, though. Due to COVID, I was given a 24" at home, and when I had to return it, I bought a refurbished 24" Philips myself. It's 1920x1080, for me a good balance between the size and screen readability

Using the Dwingeloo telescope (which predates spaceflight!) we are tracking the carrier frequency of #Artemis II. Maneuvers cause slight changes in that frequency. We annotated the timestamps of Day 1's proximity operations demonstration and we are measuring velocity changes of just a few m/s!

Am I the only one who misses the plastic storage for parts and the boxes with "you never know if it might come in handy" under the table?

Humans have travelled farther from Earth than ever before Podcast Episode Β· The Jill Bennett Show Β· April 6 · Bonus Β· 10m

History made! πŸš€ πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦
Jeremy Hansen and the #ArtemisII crew have officially broken the distance record set by Apollo 13. They’re further from Earth than any human has ever been.
Even cooler? Sunshine Coast’s own @coastal8049.bsky.social is helping NASA track the mission from his home-built system. πŸ“‘

Never really been into sports, but did a lot of recreative windsurfing and cycling. And But here also, the routes are getting shorter, and with a strong headwind, it’s not all that easy anymore. However, I continue to cycle regularly and don't want to switch to an e-bike just yet.

And after the than necessary 20 minute break, what time do you clock for getting to the bike? 😜

I saw you have a Bluetti Elite 10. That can charge at a max of 100 W, so you are already getting close to the maximum with this panel. I think you will get it from empty to full in 2.5 hours on a nice sunny day. Besides being free, it's also just fun to play a bit off-grid.

However, parallel is generally the best method for panels with different Wp values. You might get lucky if the output voltages are close to each other. 2/2

Connecting two panels of different Wp can yield quite disappointing results. In series, the highest panel does not exceed the output of the lowest. Mixing in parallel is not always a success either. 1/2

I have another, I guess older, 100 Wp model from Eco-worthy and have seen that one do 92 Watt on bright summer days. On a sunny winter day around 40. Great panels. Have 2 120Wp, glass panels, on my campervan that did 160 in Spain in Februari. So I guess they can do close to 240 in summer πŸ₯³
