The purpose of yesterday was to frighten us to submitting in advance. I have my freedom of speech and I will use it here and everywhere else I exist online to make my voice heard. Because hate = ignorance. Hateful people live in their own little bubbles of hate and they have no idea what’s really going on. Not really.

But I think a good point to add is that sometimes it’s so hard to be kind in the face of hatred and scary things in the world because you’re so aware of all the cruelty and injustice.

It doesn’t sound weak. I promise it doesn’t. I’ve been trying my damndest to do this since November.

I picked up more volunteer shifts at my local library. Joined a local community writing initiative and try to do small acts of kindness for people when I can.

Remembering that one time shortly after Roe was overturned that I went to a protest with my boyfriend and a Proud Boy followed me and my boyfriend and passed me by while trying to take a picture up my skirt.
